Between a few ups and downs over the last year + myself and my hsband haven't had a break away together since our honeymoon (2015). I'm thinking of going to Greece in Sept. But I haven't done any research yet, but would be interested to hear other peoples opinions on Greece and what part to visit. I've been to Greece a long time ago to visit a friend, so it was a bit different to a summer holiday.
I think we need a bit of chill out time together and while we loves sandy beaches, gets bored easily with nothing to do. I'm thinking a day or two in Athens and then on somewhere. But no idea where!
Does anyone have any best and worst of Greece?

It has been a long time, but I loved Greece when I was there. Crete has beaches, ruins, hiking, wine, food...and I also like the Penopolosian peninsula. There used to be a ferry from Gythio to Crete so you didn't have to head back to Athens.

Hellis is our resident Greece expert. She's even written books about it. She doesn't come here very often,, so I could send her a message for you. (I stayed with her here in Australia last week.)

Hi there - Re Greece. Are you thinking of the Cyclades islands? If so I can recommend the island of Sifnos. It has everything - beaches, walks, nice villages where life goes on around the visitors, good food, excellent buses, traditions, friendly people etc... It is also not jammed with tourists like Mykonos and Santorini. You can get there by ferry from the port of Piraeus. Any other questions let me know. I can point you to other places on the Peloponnese or the Ionian islands.

Sorry for not coming back sooner. TBH I wasn't sure where I was thinking of. I was in Greece years ago and stayed with friends. I love the look of Santorini but I imagine it is jam pack with people.
I've never heard of the Sifnos.....so thanks a mil, I'm off to investigate.
