Have just been given a whole bunch of apples and husband wants apple pie. Anyone have the perfect apple pie recipe? Have shortcrust pastry in the freezer to use.

Line a pastry dish with the pastry. Slice apples into thin slices (enough to fill the dish,so depends on how big the apples are, around 4 should do).
Mix sugar and cinnamon with the apple slices in a bowl so they are evenly coated, use sugar to taste (probably around 150ml or so, more if the apples are tart) and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Put slices in dish.
Bake in 200c for 30ish min. Serve with ice cream or custard.
Easy, foolproof and tasty.
