I have been somewhat unwell for the past week or so, to the exent that I had my hospital bag replenished and ready to go and this morning received an email from our son; "please eat dad" Followed about 15 minutes later with "please add a comma after word 2 of my last". Punctuation is important. groo this made me laugh hope you are feeling better

was in the Uni cafe, marking. my section was the very quiet armchairs.
A non-British student near me suddenly went into a phone call, and her end was a lot of not being able to finish her sentences while trying to be very polite, in English, to someone who was clearly upset by something the student had, or hadn't done, and which the student had not realised she was supposed to not do or do.
When that call finished, the student went on to another call, and began speaking, in possibly Czech or Polish, very quickly and angrily to someone who sounded like a friend. None of which I really understood, until she suddenly breathed out "Kurva!" (bitch/whore) and I had to stop myself from laughing out loud.
She seemed to feel better after that chat.

The big bad in the two parter finale of Doctor Who was Sutek - God of Death. Someone posted on a Doctor Who fan page on facebook that as a Polish speaker it makes them laugh because in Polish it means nipple. 'I am nipple God of Death'

Given the amount of Poles living in the UK, there must be enough Polish speakers involved with the show that they deliberately kept quiet about that...

Possibly though it's a monster from Classic Who back in the 70's so maybe they just decided to go with it anyway.

This post on FB. I have questions, a lot of questions,
A person was rescued in regional Victoria early on Friday morning after getting stuck in a drop toilet. As first revealed on 3AW’s Rumour File, The CFA have confirmed shortly after 2am they were called to the property at McSweens Road in Indigo Valley, rescuing the person in a 45-minute operation. ***The drop toilet is better known as the long drop outdoor dunny or thunder box
