Portugal recommendations

Hi!

Does anyone have recommendations for places to stay in PORTO, COIMBRA or LISBON?

I'll be travelling alone in early September. I'm thinking simple hotels/guesthouses/hostels with private rooms. I don't mind a shared bathroom but I don't want to stay in dorms.

We stayed in Air BnBs which were OK, if a little odd (maybe we just don't get Air BNB?). In Lisbon and Porto we stayed in a couple of different places (visited more than once). I'd recommend Alfama - it's the old district and is beautiful. Just make sure you're not right on the 28 tram line - it's really noisy. In Porto, we stayed in Rua do Almada just near the Porto Sao Bento train station - it was a lovely street and close to everything.

Both Lisbon and Porto are very walkable cities (even if it's a bit hilly in both cities).

Sorry I can't recommend specific places, but the areas mentioned above were my favourites.
