Myself and Mr hobo are heading to Singapore for a wedding in June. The wedding is pretty much a week long affair.
I don't really see much point in just going for the week and I think we should tack on a few days for hols.
So if you had a few days in SEA, starting point Singapore where would you go?

Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur, mostly for the market areas (Chinese, Indian and Malay), or Cameron Highlands, or Penang. Not sure you could do more than one in only a few days, and IMO Cameron Highlands or Penang might be more interesting.

Would Cambodia or Vietnam be worth a visit for 4 or 5 days? They are the next places in Asia I would like to visit, and Singapore is such a transport hub, you could go anywhere.

Thanks all. I purposely didn't give any details in the open because I was interested in where you'd go not where you'd think I'd like based on my interests - if that makes any sense!
I've been to Singapore, Malaysia Thailand Cambodia Vietnam and Laos before myself but Mr hasn't. I don't think Cambodia/Laos is feasible really for such a short time. I'm thinking Sabah or somewhere like Langkawi for some beach relaxation after close quarters of a family wedding!
I must have a look again at Penang.
I am kinda surprised that no one mentioned anywhere in Indonesia? Anyone with experience? My only "experience" of Indonesia is Eat Love Pray :-p

As an Australia, I don't like Indonesia's territory-grabbing tendencies (East Timor and Papua) so I tend to steer clear. The only place I might consider is Bali, which is culturally very different. You could always visit Sprite!

The Perhentian islands in Malaysia are really unspoilt and beautiful too! Could combine it with a few days in Penang (Short flight from Kota Bharu)
