Am looking for ideas for this summer's holiday, so thought I'd come here :-)
Mrmei and I are thinking of maybe a hiking trip or something similar. We did a 3-day mountain hike in Austria last year, but not sure what to do this year.
Any suggestions for nice areas for long distance walking or specific hiking trails? Doesn't have to be mountains, could be something else too. Preferably no further than a day's drive from the Netherlands (so Belgium, France, Germany, maybe Austria, maybe Denmark, would be accessible I think).

Don’t remember the specifics, and sounds like it may be too far, but I remember some great longer hikes in Norway and Sweden.

For ideas in Germany, look at the website ich-geh-wandern.de
Here in the Eifel there are some really great long distance hikes, and you'd be more than welcome to use our place as a base ❤️

I've done a few short sections of the Eifelsteig and they are just lovely

Statements like this always make me smile - it's something we Australians forget sometimes (just how close everything is in Europe).
Carry on.

We Americans too, wombat!
I can get to Canada in a day's drive, but it's a long drive.

It takes me 4 hours to get to the nearest regional centre! ..... And it takes 4 hours to fly from the bottom part of Australia (Melbourne) to the top part of Australia (Darwin). It is quicker to fly overseas to NZ!

A section of the Pieterpad? that's a nice one, but I've already walked all of it :-)
