Just realised some fishcakes I bought have a use by date of 9th October (now the 11th).
Would you eat or throw? They're in packaging and have been kept in the fridge since I got them.
Two are cod with a parsley sauce and I think the other two are salmon. I do have other food around, so we'll not starve.

With fish I would be cautious but give it the sniff test and if it smells off at all, toss.

sniff and see.
we had a delivery of groceries on September 30, and either October 2 or 3, partner went to open some yoghurt--use by was sept 26!!
