some bolognaise sauce, and some of it gets cooled and frozen.
Then you get some of the frozen stuff out, defrost in the fridge, reheat and eat some of it.
Can you then cool and refrigerate some of that and eat it the next day. Or would that be a really bad idea?

Only one time frozen, should be good. Once frozen and thawed, it shouldn’t be refrozen. Reheated isn’t a problem usually.

i reheat cooked-then-frozen meat often. so, raw-->frozen-->cooked-->frozen-->reheated-->fridge--> reheated.
as far as i understand, it's the raw--frozen--raw--frozen cycle that is a problem, as the thawing allows the bacteria to grow, and it isn't killed during freezing, only stopped. it is killed during cooking.

Sprite’s flow chart is correct.. and yes, the bacteria thing is the problem. Freezing cooked food a second time is not recommended either but it might be a taste issue.

Took me years to convince partner we could cook a whole chicken, eat some, put the rest in the fridge/freezer, and reheat to eat again, or eat cold. He was convinced we'd end up in ER. I'm not sure how he thought chicken sandwiches in shops were possible.

Mr Snow has similar issues (I blame his mother).

It could be genetic, his grandmother would throw out an entire joint of meat if a fly landed on it before cooking--and they were not rich!

Frozen and thawed are fine for second day reheat but I was told not to refreeze.
My SIL somehow has some idea that my brother won't eat leftovers. We grew up on leftovers so I have no idea what the hell she's talking about.
In fact, at least once every other week my mother would say dinner was "whatever you find in the fridge" and there'd be a run so you didn't end up with the crappy leftovers.

PG made a delicious pasta sauce last night with whatever was left over in the fridge after our weekend away. Including the remnants of the Mediterranean potato salad with rocket, which worked suprisingly well when mixed in the sauce. He whacked in some chopped tomatoes (from the garden), a dollop of pesto sauce, a few big chilis (also from the garden) and it was absolutely delicious!
