One could go on a Roman holiday and throw three coins in the fountain.

If you don't have a problem with this being affiliated with the Catholic Church, my mum knows of a few people who have stayed here before, and the Aussie priest who "runs" it is a family friend: www.domusaustralia.org/It looks really lovely, an old historic building, and even though I am a vehement opponent of the Catholic Church, I would probably stay there if ever I were in Rome again.

We visited several of the big ticket items, and now I'd like to return and just enjoy the city. So many lines! But once inside, I could see why.

yup. we looked at it, but it only covered transport for half the time we were there, and we couldn't get entry to the big ticket items in the order that would make the pass worth it,so we just booked online.
looking forward to visiting again and just moseying more, staying in a normal neighbourhood without worrying about 'must see' items being far away. wanted to visit Tivoli but we weren't organised enough and then partner was ill one day.

i had a lot of gelato, but only found one place with more than normal flavours. and did no shopping at all, aside from one lovely paper shop. there just never seemed to be a time when i was near non-tourist shops and had the energy to do more than look at windows.
