xox everyone!
I'm all packed, pretty much, which is good because I'm slammed with work until I can escape tomorrow afternoon.

Have an amazing time!!
Will we see pics? Some people are on Insta, aren't they... I know megs is.
I am so sorry not to be there, but I am also relieved not be heading for another 16 hours or so of train travel for the weekend, because I had quite a lot of trains last week.

I’m still here! In Gairloch where it’s pouring and the sun may never manage to set. It was fantastic seeing everyone!

Ooh, just looked up some photos on Google, looks lovely. I've never been further north than Fort William.
How are the dragonflies?

I remember Gairloch. We had a nice dinner, and then sat in the car chatting to the inlaws on the phone, while a stag chewed grass in front of the headlights. This was after it ate quite a bit of the restaurant's decorative shrubbery. They were possibly less thrilled than me.

We saw an effing HUGE stag today. It stared at us and then jumped over a 6-ft barbed-wire fence as easily as you’d step over a footstool.

It had MASSIVE antlers; I'd never seen anything like that before. Those red deer up there are amazing.

If sprite's venison burgers are anything to compare that to, I heartily agree!

It is our environmental duty to eat venison burgers! I've now learned that some places do venison osso bucco, so I'm going to start hassling the butcher to get some in. They like me at the butchers.

Those large stags are beautiful to behold. I only had venison once but found it too gamely for my liking. Squirrel’s alright though. Bit sweet like sweet chicken.

sprite yours were delicious, and I am not a game-loving person -- tend to be kind of squeamish about any meat that wasn't on my plate as a child, but I decided to be adventuresome that day (which is now 2 weeks ago, where does the time go).

I've got another pack in the freezer, haha! Phar, that is interesting, as this butchers venison is never gamey, but the one time I tried to have squirrel, it was so gamey I nearly retched. It went straight into the food waste bin. I'm sure it was a bad batch of squirrel.
