Mr Snow is going to a work meeting there in the near future and is likely to have a weekend or two free.
Does anyone have any suggestions about places to go etc? I said I'd ask.

The old part of Kochi is really nice to wander around. The most famous thing to see is probably the Chinese fishing nets.
We were there a couple of nights and enjoyed it.

The old part is fab - there's also an old Jewish quarter and some tons of beautiful buildings - just nice to walk around. I think we went on a cruise or a ferry (it was years ago) to check out some of the places.
I also had one of the hottest dishes I've ever eaten in my life there. Ironically a pineapple dish, which you would think would be quite cooling.
The other two dishes I've had in the same category were in Thailand.

I’ve been there, but it was 20 years ago. The best part was going for a ride on a kettuvullam (sp?) — houseboat on the backwaters. That was amazing.
In Kochi proper we stayed in a disturbingly posh Taj hotel. It had a nice restaurant, though.
