Yes Rom I agree with your sentiment, but sometimes I just can't be bothered here. I'm fairly outspoken irl, though - I did give the two pharmacies a bit of a blast when they refused to vaccinate me, for example.

Had my booster today. I’ve lost count of how many that is, but they’re all on the Medicare app on my phone. So far no reaction.

I'm within 6 months of having covid (the only upside of having Covid on your birthday is you remember when you had it!) but I'll get the booster when the 6 months is up.
Another vaccine story though - I got the whooping cough vaccine as a baby. Whooping cough kills, I got whooping cough when I was 7 and was a severe asthmatic. I would not be here if I hadn't had the vaccine. It damn near killed me as it was.

I had a 6th shot in November. Yesterday I had a shingles shot. I don't get much of a reaction to the Covid shots but my arm is still a bit sore from yesterday's shot.
Phar is foolish for refusing to get vaccinated against Covid etc imho.

My doctor told me the new shingles vaccine is in short supply, which was confirmed by friends over the weekend, so I’m glad you two managed to get it. I had the first one, and have been told I don’t need the second yet. I have an appointment next week to update my care plan, and all of this gets checked then.

They're good at my Gperry. A supply arrived, nurse noted that I was to see GP tomorrow over something else, so pencilled me in for a shingles hit while I was there.
Shingles is more than a little unpleasant; I had a brush with it some 20 years ago - contagion from a childhood bout of chicken pox had lain dormant in my spine since around 1950.

My department head was off work for 10 days and really poorly with Covid last week. Her GP said that if she'd kept up with her boosters she'd probably have had a much easier time of it.

Yes, my friend whose boosters are up to date got over it in a few days. She did get antivirals from her doctor.

I’ve had 5 Covid vaccinations so far, and am eligible for my 6th in March. We are heading off on a cruise in April, so I’ll definitely roll my sleeve up before then. On cruising; the older I get, the more I appreciate being able to do sweet f all besides planning where to go for dinner.
Our local pharmacy gives out free Covid vaccines, however I think thats due to our remote location.

Agree
And please do not make it a "fun" cruise. I like a very boring cruise

On cruising; the older I get, the more I appreciate being able to do sweet f all besides planning where to go for dinner. On the Grey Funnel Line you don't even have to plan that, Andy - and I'll bet that Covid vaccines are part of the package these days as well. They even gave me bubonic plague injections once, for which I am eternally grateful - I've not had a spot of bubonic plague since. And Yellow fever plus all sorts of stuff that doesn't seem to exist anymore.

All sorts of diseases that no longer exist thanks to vaccinations!

UK bringing in private Covid vaccinations from April 1. Cost is 'from' 45 quid. I have mixed feelings about this - yes, it is good that it may open it up to others who were considered ineligible (apparently it is for ages 12 and up). But, it leads to two tier health services, with many not able to afford it (and likely also not able to afford much time off if they get Covid) pharmadoctor.co.uk/patient/service/covid-vaccination

I agree, but that ship has already sailed, I think.
Most of the Brits I know who can afford private health care or private health insurance are already turning to it in certain circumstances, even if they actually have ethical concerns about it.

So depressing to see other countries emulating our terrible healthcare system. We had free COVID vaccines during the early years of the pandemic, but now you see a sign outside the CVS that's like "FREE VACCINES" with tiny print like "for most forms of insurance." So that is not, actually, free.
