Today's first world problem. I have a sore throat. Which is annoying (and sore, obv) but I have pain killers. I'm just having problems swallowing said pain killers. And until I manage that I can't do anything about my tummy rumbling. Maybe today is the day to use up that meal replacement shake thing I bought for a mystery shopping job. But that would entail getting the blender out. And swallowing strawberry flavoured swill.

with any luck, weeg, your tastebuds are shot. while the blender is out, you could make whisky milkshakes.

Hey! No real problems allowed. (Feel better, ladies)
My fwp: the cleaner didn't get the floors done today, so she has to come back in Monday.
The lines are too long to see Santa.

My toaster is no longer keeping a steady temperature. Every few days or so it burns my toast.
Also, I have to go to Ikea for (food) supplies before Christmas.

My toaster is no longer keeping a steady temperature. Every few days or so it burns my toast. Also, I have to go to Ikea for (food) supplies before Christmas. ours has been doing similar - though I do think it is more because the numbers on the dial have worn off and someone turns in the wrong way, thus burnt toast some mornings.

The retail outdoor furniture world don't think that solo's who live in small apartments/houses need to enjoy sun and sunshine. Everything I looked at yesterday had an outdoor table bigger than my deck and came in sets of 4 6 8 or 10. I only want two small chairs.

whothingie - try a camping-good store! There are lots of cute little tables for two and small chairs in that market.

whothingie - or try IKEA, usually has good solutions for this kind of stuff too.

Next third world problem. Have to have work done on the roof at work and it needs three fine days - not easy in this area - and now we have a molly hawk seagull with eggs in the nest on the roof and it's dive bombing the builders. With a seriously hooked beak and a huge wing span it's rather frightening yet we can't leave the roof any longer as the drips have got beyond the bucket full overnight stage.

our hardware stores sell, patio table and chairs (one small table and 2 chairs) - Bunnings I know stock them, guess Bunnings over there would as well.

whothingie, I have seen these in bunnings too. is a mollyhawk the same as a black back gull? I've not heard that name before.
fwp: we have a wwoofer staying with us at the moment and he works too darn quickly and we are running out of jobs for him to do!

Lisa - yes. Generically used down here to distinguish it from the smaller far pleasanter ones. The builders are all grizzling about danger money, hard hats and making very bad jokes about birds on the job.
Bunnings - good idea. I forget about them as they have only just moved back into the city after years out in the burbs.
Send the enthusiastic one down my way ... I need to paint some fences and am procrastinating great style.

I have a husband and daughter who both need a big kick up the backside - one is sulking understandably, rude and nasty comments don't make one happy. The other is just a grumpy old thing who can't handle life without nicotine for too long.

I want to make mimosas tomorrow. Read this suggestion on Pinterest to use orange sorbet instead of orange juice. Three places in Abu Dhabi didn't have orange sorbet. I'll have to use orange juice with my champagne tomorrow.

I'm at work and have nothing to do and no one is in. If I disappeared I bet no one would notice. So I'm going to. Disappear. At some point.

I pulled out an older pair of headphones that have foam over the ears. I wore them to the gym. Not until I got into the car driving away did I realize they had disintegrated leaving a big smear of black over my ears and face...gaaaaa.
