I had a stressful dream last night and woke up overheated. No problem, I had enough time to go back to sleep, right? But then partner's radio went off and he slept through the news for FORTY FIVE MINUTES.
I am posting this from the back of a police car... (no, not really, I'm not coordinated enough to kill before my second cup of coffee. Which he didn't make.)

I got home from my meeting around 1pm, and after lunch, knowing I had to go out again at 3.30, I was relaxing in the recliner half asleep, listening to an audiobook, when there was a knock on my door. It was a young man, asking if he could look through the house then and there, because of the For Sale sign. I told him no, he’d have to go through the agent. Hope this doesn’t continue. I’m using an agent so people looking at the house can be checked out, and also because I need at least an hour to make sure everything is in order. The last thing I need is some random thinking he can look through my house whenever he chooses, especially with so many break ins in the area.

There was a terrible murder in my area about 20 years ago from such a situation. Woman alone with a child let the guy in to see the house. Even agents need to be careful showing empty houses.

Ozzie, I would feel very nervous letting anyone into my house like that! Why don't men think about how they're coming across??

I’ve just been speaking to the agent, arranging an open house for next Saturday. He agrees that his job is to vet people who may come to look at the house. Apart from anything else, I could have been a tenant, not the owner, and that completely upsets the owner-tenant relationship.

Random door knockers.
I was on a relatively important work call, and the buzzer to be let into the building rang. I'm not expecting anyone so I ignore. It keeps ringing. So I think maybe it's my neighbour.
So I leave my work call and answer the intercom and there comes a tirade of Dutch - so unless my Spanish neighbour learnt Dutch overnight it's not him.
I say very loudly in English "Who are you and what do you want?"
Voice: "we want to speak to the main person of the house"
Me: You don't know who I am and so I'm not letting you in.
___
Now I get that everyone has a job to do but if you ring a door bell and no-one answers WHY DO YOU KEEP RINGING?

This has been annoying me for a few days,
Trying to organise car hire for our upcoming holiday.
The site based in New Caledonia has a better rate and offers unlimited mileage - but it won't accept my booking, keeps on saying error (possibly because I am in Australia)
The oz based site does not have the special, does not offer unlimited mileage and so is more expensive.
So then I have to look at other companies-all ones where I book from Oz do not seem to offer unlimited mileage, so I'm now trying to calculate how much driving we are likely to do, and if that exceeds the limit.
I gave up the other day just to have a break.

I just read that the nice brand-new pool and athletic center in the neighborhood already has people cutting locks off lockers and making off with people's phones and wallets. So much for using the pool for now - I suppose one could use the fitness machines with a fanny pack on.
Kind of tired of this neighborhood being the Wild West, but of course then people are like 'more cops!' which has its own problems, plus the cops don't have funding for more personnel anyway.

Today ended like shit.
Bus driver just totally blew by my stop, I had to wait an extra half hour, then I left my umbrella on the bus and then my bladder exploded before I got to the bathroom.

My insurance company automatically assumes that any car that’s been stolen will need to be written off. That may explain some bizarre conversations I’ve had with their call centre people, which unnecessarily added to my level of stress. I was told from the start, by the police and the tow truck people, that any damage to my car was minimal, because it was recovered quickly. I only learnt this when I rang the number they gave me on the message I received yesterday to chase up a rental car, and was told I was talking to the write off team. The message was also giving me details of a repairer. The write off team put me through to the right people, and for once, a helpful person. He told me that the original rental car request they’d made had been for a specific type of vehicle, which they have a very limited supply of.

Silk screen didn't go well. First I ran out of printer ink for the acrylic stencil. Then no 150 watt bulbs in the house. Then screen only half dried because the light blocking cover fell on it overnight. I went ahead and tried. Utter failure because the paper stencil stuck to the screen. But I have plenty of daylight to eff it up again. I don't need light for this. Grr.

The art goddesses must be telling me to stay in my lane. Another silk screen fail. I did get a nice stencil printed though.

I got to the blood bank today, but learnt that I couldn’t donate, because my blood pressure was a few points too high. It has never happened before, and a review last month by my GP left my medication at its current level, because it was under control. I’m blaming stress. I planned selling my house at a time when other stressors were under control. What I didn’t plan was my house being broken into and my car stolen, then not being able to get a rental car for 3 weeks. I rang the repairer this morning. It’s about to have a mechanical check, but they still can’t tell me when or if I’ll get it back. Another open house tomorrow, And cleaner is coming in the morning, so I’ll head to the shopping mall as I’ll be early enough to get a good park, and need something that’s only available there.

At first I was thinking this is funny but it's not. My friend's bad band started playing at a bar with a bad reputation. Not the bar fight type thing, but college age girls getting their drinks drugged. Could be gossip but I would err on the side of not patronizing it. He is fucking oblivious.

Tinnitus.
I often have a very soft version that I can ignore, but this week it's been like a family of cicadas has moved in.
Wish the bastards would move out.

There's an event at the city history museum. I would really really like to go. But one ticket is $250. I am not sure what event I would pay that type of money for. Not even VIP section for a favorite band.

People talking about religion in the waiting room at the ophthalmologist. Hopefully one of them will get called by the doctors soon.

Oh that reminds me of 2 women talking in the grocery store and I caught one of those right wingy conservative words. I sped up, nope, nothing I need where you are blocking the aisle.

People talking about religion in the waiting room at the ophthalmologist. Hopefully one of them will get called by the doctors soon. Or by the Lord? Another one of those nights - tired after being wide awake since 3am yesterday, so in bed at 8 hoping for a good nights sleep. Wide awake again at 1.30, the new pattern in my life. I've just taken a Temazepam and had a small glass of port. I hope that does the trick. Failing that, I'll try camomile tea tomorrow.
