I just saw one of those bathrobe coats in the wild! Wow they look heavy. Why would you choose to wear that on a PLANE?!

I just saw one of those bathrobe coats in the wild! Wow they look heavy. Why would you choose to wear that on a PLANE?! How big are the pockets? Maybe you could stuff a carry-on bag's worth of stuff into it. Also planes aren't handing out blankets since covid. Could be useful for a warm nap.

Yikes!
Well, the sale price means they're not moving as expected.
Who would go on a real hike all dressed in white anyhow?

snort.
this weekend, we ate at a pancake cafe where most of the early 20's staff wore acid washed jeans.
later we saw a girl with a mullet. I asked partner why, when retro becomes cool again, they always chose the ugliest features of the decade??

I saw someone with a mullet the other day. 20-something American guy. Must be a hipster thing.

Some of them look like they've had a mullet since the last time it was a fashion.

Love a wedge heel on a sandal... but not super high.
Very comfortable, which is a far more important criteria than appearance.

You know that I have never seen someone IRL wearing one of those dresses? It's just something I read about in the New York Times magazine last year, or whenever that one designer supposedly made it a thing.
Either it never made it to DC, or I don't spend enough time in the chichi part of town. But yeah, we really don't need that part of the 1970s to come back again.

When I was growing up there was a shop in the UK called Laura Ashley which sold those kind of dresses.
My mum would try and drag me in there when I was about 12, but quickly worked out I hated all of it.

Oh Laura Ashley, of course. I had a colleague in the 80s who loved those dresses.
I remember finding a red velvet one for Spawn at a thrift store to wear to a wedding; it was more restrained than the usual floral stuff.

Why put a draw string tie in an elastic waisted plus size skirt? All it does is become hard to untie, making it hard to get the skirt on and off. All the flannellete sleep pants seem to have them this year too. Fortunately, our winter didn’t get cold enough to need them.

Laura Ashley was here in Australia until 2018 - when it went into liquidation (I wonder why!).
Men in too small suits is a thing here too - they look ... tight!
I quite like the oversized suit thing that's going on for women - the young ones are wearing a little crop top underneath - it's quite similar to what I used to wear a few decades ago!

I hated Laura Ashley as soon as I learned what it was, but my best friend in Junior High was besotted.
Now, I sometimes find LA items in charity shops that I really like. One is a beige-ish woven sleeveless top with intricate embroidery along the bottom --if her stuff was all like that, I'd have a closet full.
