worked, planned for next week, then to the flat to pack/tidy. a possible tenant wants to view it tomorrow, and we've warned them that it's all a bit post-police search in there. mostly i just made sure no one was going to trip and kill themselves. it's almost presentable.
each day, i've gone and packed for an hour, and then partner arrives, we load up the car, and come back to our house. today i came back here before he arrived because i was supposed to have student. (no internet, grrr.) he was then too tired, so my little Rhubarb plant is still there! bought it yesterday and forgot it.

Currently sitting on the observation deck of Q1 at the Gold Coast. Had an enjoyable walk along the beach earlier, walking in the soft sand was so hard on my leg muscles not sure what I will do until the kids get back from MovieWorld

I am worrying!
I now have a car. I should probably learn how to drive. I have had a (VALID) learner's licence for 22 years. It's probably time I learned.
Holy hell I will have to drive a manual. Yikes.

waiting for the mom of two of a's friends to answer - we had said that maybe her kids can visit us today, so if that still works for her, i will probably go to the playground with three kids in the afternoon, and then when we go home from there we will have a very full house ...

King's Day here, national holiday and spending it with mrmei and his son. So we've been out this morning to see a puppet play, played some soccer at a small playground, had a look at the kiddie's market, and now spread out across the house relaxing.

I'm up at 3am. No papers yet so I've has a cup of camomile tea (maybe a scotch would have been better) and I'm back off to bed. It's raining so there's not too much point getting up early.

friends of a. were sick and thus couldn't visit, so we went to a playground instead. took a. quite a while to decide - i had offered to go to the nearby playground, or do a cycling tour, or cycle to a further away playground, or go home. it was the nearby playground in the end - though only after we just started the cycling tour and passed it on the way.

Wandered down to a local pub for lunch and then saw some of a local art trail as two of our neighbours were exhibiting their photos and screenprints.

Ate final breakfast on my Cruise-with-Mom this morning, came home, walked into town with pero and had a salad at Sweetgreen and some baklava from the farmers market. Tonight we're booked to go to an Indian resto in DC with friends.

I've had a really lazy day. I had a long lie in then just pottered around all day. I've researched an upcoming trip, been to the supermarket, done very small domestic tasks, on and off chatted with a friend on messenger, and cooked some sea bass for dinner. I can't remember when I've last spent a weekend day so lazily.
Tomorrow I must go out and do stuff. Even though it's going to rain heavily all day.

This morning has been unexpectedly productive. I'm working on something I've never done before, which is creating an outline for a course that I'll be pitching. I'm having more fun with it than I thought I would. Meanwhile, txgirl is on her way here; the sun is out and we're going to hang out in the park.

would. Meanwhile, txgirl is on her way here; the sun is out and we're going to hang out in the park. That sounds fun! I'm envious, since my ' hanging out in parks with at the weekend ' bestie has abandoned me to travel the world! Selfish, I call it.

Heading out soonish to a special event at the State Library. It is for kids but as part of it includes a tour of the Shakespeare Room I made sure that LC is going and that I get to take him.
Then we will go out for lunch, which may involve some hunting, as all the places I like near the library are closed on a Sunday.

Can be hard with allergy options - which also rules out quite a few cafes.
Westfield food court might be the best bet. If I head down towards the Opera House LC will insist on a steak from the Opera Bar and I do not want to deal with the Sunday crowds (or expense)

worked so far, interrupted by having to clean the (wooden) floor from the felt tip pen pictures my daughter decorated it with ... later on we are planning to go to the fair that is in a nearby park every year about first of may ... first time we went there was when i was pregnant, so it is a family tradition to go there together just the three of us, every year ... also got to do the dishes either before or after that (lots of dishes, haven't done them in several days) ...

I need to do the second half of my post-travel laundry today; otherwise no plans. We should probably go outside and watch birds seeing as it's migration, except that it's COLD OUT AGAIN, which is annoying.

Sun full on today. Beautiful. Just made a run for some potted plants for my deck. Very strange I was thinking of this guy with whom I used to work 18 years ago. I knew he lived in the area but never ran into him. All it took was seeing his backside of bushy gray hair and pale hand on his car door. I knew it was him. And sure enough his car was in front of me and turned into the subdivision where he lives. We were sort of work friends, but I think he was really wanting a girlfriend. He was married but separated. Really really dodged a bullet with that hot mess. He got back with his wife at some time. Back in March she was on the election ticket as some low key official. That's really what made remember them at all.

more moving. it's almost done, although everytime we say that, we remember something else--like the loft, where we put all the landlord's crap we didn't like.
about half of our plants are back with us, which makes it feel less like camping. i scored a clearance set of 6 herbs for one pound, because 2 have died--but they aren't two i would want anyway!

the plan is to cycle to a station about 3 km from here with a., then take the train to one station before my mom's place, and then cycle from there (about 5.5 km) - which will be her longest cycling in one go, so far ... and then hang out at my mom's, play in the garden, etc. ... just hope the cycling goes okay - it is a bit more windy than i thought it would be ...
