Near me household-size Xmas trees are welcome at a few goat farms for the herd's Xmas treat. They love the needles, and two or three trees are set out for them every day. Trees must be organically grown without pestcides and be stripped of all decoration, especially tinsel.

Apparently this one comes from Germany.., no idea about the pesticides but it doesn’t have tinsel on it... just a 4 km string of lights.

I too love Man Ray. I swear I've read numerous books about the history of Dada and Surrealism but had no idea he did commercial fashion photography, or that some of these images we know so well were in magazines rather than just galleries, so thank you for that! Those 1920s clothes are so fantastic.

Larry King died and people are saying they didn't know he was married to Billie Jean King without actually looking up to see if she was maybe married to a different guy named Larry King.
(note: she was married to a different guy named Larry).

I follow Botany Geek non insta, and he often makes nano terrariums Which I find very soothing. when I read this article about a tiny lizard I'm mediately thought it could be a pet for one of his nano terrarium. Seed-sized chameleon

The line "Scientists assume its habitat is small" made me laugh. I know they mean "restricted," but it is also very smol.

So far watching SNL with Dan Levy and am spending more time cringing than smiling. I haven't laughed yet. The writers need to be fired.

Ha! sprite thank you, I know the term "Patagonia picnic table effect"! When we were in southeast Arizona a while back we went to Patagonia and someone pointed it out, "there, that's the picnic table."
But pfff at it being a myth, it does happen frequently enough to merit being a term - I've been in groups where it happened, like we went to look for a rare duck that showed up on the Potomac and while we were there found an out-of-season pelican. I think the problem with that study is that they're trying to establish super rarities being found in the same place as other super rarities, and it's really just about people finding something interesting there, not another code 5 rarity. It's about there being a large concentration of really good birders in a single spot, which will increase the probability of interesting things being seen just because they have the knowledge and patience to spot the one weird sparrow or whatever, whereas beginners or even mid-level birders might just blow that off.
I am devoting way too much thought to this

I actually read a cozy mystery where a dead body was disguised as a snowman.

The carrot's placement was tasteful. There is a less tasteful picture of another snowman involving a bollard...
