What are you listening to right now? Me? I’m on YouTube listening to Panis Angelicus. It’s the OST from “You Are Beautiful”. It does have subtitles which is a pity, but the song is beautiful (we learnt this at school) and it’s my favourite scene. I hope you enjoy it too.
Unfortunately, when you tap the play arrow, you will then need to hit the arrow in the lower right hand corner and watch on YouTube.

Since the weekend, we have been listening to a lot of classical CDs - PG bought about 3 new ones last week, and they arrived on Friday. They are all flute music by his idol, Swiss flautist Emmanuel Pahud, who is the lead flautist with the Berliner Philharmoniker. We went down to Switzerland for a long weekend in November 2019 to see him in concert - my birthday present to PG. The CDs are everything from Beethoven, to more modern stuff, to the works of Carl Phillip Emmanuel Bach, son of JS Bach, who was a flute virtuoso.

Not today but yesterday I went back to my teen years and was listening to No Doubt's first album Tragic Kingdom.

Not today, but Saturday night we went out to see E^ST. And I've replayed some of my favourite songs from her set a few times since then.

Oh thank you Phar; I've been thinking of creating a thread like this for a while. It's not yet 6:00 in the morning, so I'm not listening to anything, but the album I listened to yesterday afternoon was LCD Soundsystem's "Sound of Silver"

I was going to post the official video of my favorite song on that record ("All My Friends"). However, while the version on the album starts off optimistically but then gets dark, the way they recorded it on the video leaves out all the happier stuff at the beginning and therefore really is just miserable. So I thought I'd spare you all that.

Hooray for Deborah Harry! I met her once in 1979, she is one of the famous people I have met.
Today I listened to my phone on Shuffle. My phone decided it wanted me to listen to La Luz more often than anything else today, so that's what I will declare I was listening to today. I love both this song and this video:

Right now I'm listening to Pink Floyd's "Meddle," mainly in celebration of the fact that for the past 4 years I've been rage-listening to their later album "Animals," but today I figure I can chill out a bit.

I'm going to be the only person posting in this thread, aren't I. Anyway, today's selection is the Radiohead In Rainbows From the Basement video! You too can sing along by howling incomprehensibly and scaring the neighbors.

I felt like dancing around the room/boosting my energy levels earlier, so I listened to this (bit of an antidote to Radiohead).

Oh hey I really liked that! Definitely more of a mood booster than that other gloomy stuff I've been listening to today.

Liiisa - no, you won’t be the only one, I thought I was going to be I’m so glad I won’t, I like listening to finding out what others like, o this is good.
I remember this song from way back to when I was knee high to a grasshopper. Now, when I listen to it, I feel like a small child again in a protected world where I’m safe and loved but as the song nears the end, I tear up and think of my mum and know how lucky I am to still have her with me.

Thank you Phar! I just thought I was on kind of a roll there.
That's a lovely story, I'll have to give that song a listen in the morning when I'm not listening to the news.

Pitchfork named "Shall We Go On Sinning So That Grace May Increase" by The Soft Pink Truth as one of the top albums of 2020, so I went on Bandcamp to check it out. The more I listen to this record the more I like it - it's kind of soft ambient electronica type stuff, but with enough atonality to keep me interested, and some pieces with odd, interesting vocals:

They're playing the Patti Smith version of "Gloria" on KEXP right now, which is brilliant and to me is the only acceptable version of that song.

They're playing the Patti Smith version of "Gloria" on KEXP right now, which is brilliant and to me is the only acceptable version of that song. This is the “Gloria” I remember, sung by Laura Branigan. I remember belting out the song, hairbrush in hand pretending it was a microphone standing in front of the mirror! Gloria was written by Umberto Tozzi.
