Groceries… and a pillow for the man as his old one is old and doesn’t do the support thing any longer.

A pair of linen blend cropped pants I’d had my eye on, down to clearance at $29 - a good buy considering their original price was $139.95! Which I would never pay.

All in on groceries. I had not stocked up on anything in months. It was about as much as I thought.

Our monthly nut butters order: pistachio-pecan and almond butter Preordered a jazz album
Oh, and edited later to add:
A field guide to British butterflies (got an email from Princeton University Press with a 40% discount code, and I'd already intended to buy that book at some point, so...)

What I bought today: What I did not buy today: A copy of "Treacle Walker," which still is not appearing in the bookstore or library database despite it being on the Booker shortlist. Am I going to have to get it from Amazon? Do you have an independent seller site, like this one: UK BookShop

I went to my usual bookstore to see if I could order it, but they didn’t have it in their database. I can wait for it to show up here, or worst-case I’ll pick up a copy in the UK next June.

I'm off now to buy low-calorie ready meals for dinner, and a few other kitchen staples. But I've also hit the time of year where I'm not working much and I'm doing the tallying up from our holiday expenses--and realise I have no money. Because I earn (relatively) a lot during the summer, September is me buying all the stuff I've been thinking about through the year, and then we go on our big holiday. When we come back, I suddenly realise how much of my summer money is gone.
Now, it's back to wondering if any of my stuff can go on E-bay...
Everyone gets propogated plants as gifts for the next 8 months.

Plants make nice gifts!
I bought a cappuccino, a hot chocolate, a salad, and a can of fizzy half lemonade/half iced tea. The cost of having lots of people in the office, you get asked if you want to go for coffee by one person in the morning and another person in the afternoon

Return train tickets to Sydney, sleeper on the way down, day train back. For me, much less hassle than airports, and the timing is better. With my pension concession, it will cost less than a night in a hotel. And because I’m attending work-related training, required for my registration, I can claim expenses on tax. I’ll catch up with friends after the conference.

That sounds so much more pleasant than air travel these days, Ozzie.
I bought groceries. Granted I bought a few luxury items (smoked salmon, fancy cheeses) but whoa! So expensive!

Oh dear, that doesn't sound good, scicaro!
I stopped off at a huge hypermarché in Metz on my way home today to do the usual big buy up of French goodies and in the first aisle, they had 100% cashmere jumpers for €45 si I grabbed a dusky pink one with cream stripes, and PG a grey one. Bargain!

I was all set to buy a trench coat at a charity shop, then I saw one in magenta. now, i don't like magenta, but the idea that there might be another colour I like better... I'll have to keep looking.

A copy of XTC's "English Settlement" on iTunes because I heard "Senses Working Overtime" on the radio and I didn't have a copy anymore since I got rid of most of my vinyl ages ago.

Nothing yet but a friend of mine alerted me on FB that she had bought something at the shop. It makes me feel like a charity case. I don't want to know if friends buy things. If she ever came to an event I would give her the "friends" discount. I give things to my close friends. My social media postings are to spread the word about the shop. Not to put pressure on anyone to buy my work.
