I really should pick up some afternoon shifts at the volunteer shop, because the french cafe nearby brings in bags of goodies at closing time. Some days it's just a couple of danishes, but this weekend it was two lovely slices of cheesecake and an eclair--we made the manager take them, because he was off to a family dinner and it would save him money on buying something to bring.
Thanks to the cafe, I've learned that you can refresh a baguette by rinsing it and popping it into a hot oven for 3 minutes.

Ticket for a food tour next month and a new pair of Vans. Two new tops, a dress and a half case of this 0.5% alcohol beer were delivered today. luckysaint.co/You'd think I hadn't been able to spend any money over the past couple of months.

Two pairs of bamboo anti-chafe shorts @ 30% off. Thrilled with the colours, called passion purple and hot pink! These shall be worn instead of undies not as well as. The style reminds me of the “witches’ britches” that were all the rage in 1966 - we wore to school over our undies under our uniforms. They were knitted garments with rows and rows of frills around the legs. The nuns were not impressed to see their delicate charges who were supposed to be “young ladies” running around, tunics flying and displays of reds, pinks and black on show. The majority of anti chafe shorts are in boring colours like beige, white, beige, Black, dull grey. Occasionally TS bring out what they call seasonal colours.

I asked for 1/2 lb, but they thought I said "1 1/2 lb" - so I decided what the heck I'll take it all - we'll have leftovers tomorrow.

Toe spacers (finally got around to it after being told to get them for my messed-up toes by several different practitioners of different medical things)
So, since they were from Amazon and I generally don't ever buy anything from Amazon unless it would just be too annoying not to, I bought all the other things from Amazon that I'd been considering buying but resisting because, you know, Amazon: - USB to USB-C dongles, because I misplaced one and if I can't find the other one then I'm in a world of hurt - HDMI to USB-C dongle, for hooking up my home laptop to this monitor that I currently only use with my work laptop - multiplug extension plug for the train

Is there something about Amazon which is not good? I sense your reluctance Liiisa to buy from them.
Tzarine, I like the sound of those Japanese sweeties. Which ones did you get? Mine was Kido Daifuku, Mochi (Strawberry & Melon), 200 g which I shared with the grandees. They loved them!

Mine was Kido Daifuku, Mochi (Strawberry & Melon), 200 g which I shared with the grandees. They loved them! I avoid Amazon because I've read articles about how horrible it is to work for them. Both workers in the warehouses and delivery drivers get hardly any breaks and are intensively monitored in order to squeeze every second of efficiency out of them. But they are the best place to get certain kinds of fiddly things like USB to USB-C dongles, and books to read on the Kindle when you're traveling (or when you want to read something NOW and can't wait), so I'm not completely rigid about it. Those sweets sound good!

Didn't buy today but had a ridiculous crystal chandelier delivered. We've been looking for the "right" light for our main room for ages and fell in love with this one on a auction site.

Bought a virtual ticket to the livestream of my favorite bluegrass band, which starts a bit over an hour from now.
I haven't received my link yet and am getting antsy. If it hasn't arrived by half an hour before start time, when the in-person house opens, I'll call the venue.
UPDATE: all set - pre-show video of previous gig in progress.

We did an Ikea run yesterday which included supper. Partner was a killjoy and insisted on doing Click/COllect, but in retrospect, I was too tired to walk around gawking. It meant we have good coffee until the groceries are delivered, and cloudberry jam which I love and can't always find.
