sometimes i eat a bowl of rice w raw egga & soysauce or a grilled cheese sandwich or a bowl of beets w goat cheese or ramen or my student dish, cereal

omelette.
BBQ chicken pasta (so shred the meat from the chook and cook it up with various things and then stir it through some pasta)

Spaghetti with ketchup and olive oil, fried rice with whatever vegetables are in the fridge add some soy sauce, grilled cheese sandwich, sandwich with baked beans, baked leftover potatoes with eggs and curry powder.

Omelette. Fried egg over rice with chilli sauce and coriander. Cheese and crackers with fruit. Pasta with whatever is in the fridge (onion fried with a bit of oil, grated zucchini, cherry tomatoes, lemon zest and juice a handful of currants and fetta stirred through is a favourite - with variations - use a bit of the cooking liquid if its a bit dry).

Whatever I have in the freezer - I always have some pasta / rice / chili / meat dishes frozen in portions size.
If it gets really bad - tin of Maggi Ravioli (flashback to childhood).

grilled cheese. often a good way to use up tiny amounts of stuff left in fridge. roast veg makes a surprisingly good grilled cheese.
pasta with veg stir fry-=or a bit of chorizo. love chorizo, it lasts forever, the dish needs no other seasoning. good staple.
in a real pinch, pasta with lots of olive oil and salt.

If I'm lazy, I am properly lazy or I throw together what I have (zero cooking):
* Raw potato
* Cheese
* Cheese and almond
* Boiled egg
* Buying a whole roast chicken
* Salmon (smoked/hotsmoked) and egg

Rice in the rice cooker, stir fry whatever veggies are in the fridge or freezer with garlic and fish sauce, add whatever protein is around. Stir in soy sauce and siracha at the end.

Indomie noodles (can't find them here, though); store-bought hummus + pita; sandwich; oatmeal; veggie burger in the oven . . . all very lazy.

Spaghetti aglio olio.
Spaghetti with garlic, walnuts or pine nuts, and parsley if I have it.
Spaghetti alla puttanesca if I have a tomato; or with sun dried tomatoes, which I usually have in the fridge.
Omelette, bread.
With a salad if I have anything to make one of. For seven or eight months of the year I have sorrell in the garden, which you can make a salad of.

Good answers. I tend to go for grilled cheese or if I am by myself, cereal (hot or cold), various egg dishes (omelette, fried egg sandwich).

Ria, how do you eat raw potato without cooking (and without dying)? Open mouth, bite down, chew and swallow :-p I've heard lots of people say that over the years. I wonder where the idea it's poisonous raw came from. Yeah I eat it like a carrot or an apple is more accurate.

i often make risotto as an easy dish. takes a bit of time though, but aside from that it's fairly minimal effort.

Daal and rice, with heaps of pickle. Sorry, very uninspiring, but it does cook quickly, and is delicious (to me, that is).

I guess if you take of the skin of the potato and all small sprouts it should be as safe as a cooked one, just doesn't sound so tasty to me.
I'm hungry, I'm off to make nasi goreng.

I guess if you take of the skin of the potato and all small sprouts it should be as safe as a cooked one, just doesn't sound so tasty to me. Nothing wrong with eating the skin. Would never be bothered to peel it before eating it raw. As for the taste - it reminds me of childhood adventures :-)

chorizo is amazing. lightly fried and then tossed with anything, no further seasoning needed. it's one of the foods i always have on hand in the uk.
