There is a new swimming spot opening up on the Parramatta river after much work has been done to improve water quality and, I think, reclaim sand.
Anyway, the local council and other groups involved in this have done a promotional video. In reply to the question of bull sharks being present in the river, they stress how this is a good thing, because it shows how the water quality has improved. Ha! They do then go on to say they are installing a shark net, but you'd think they would start with that info before saying how lovely it is that sharks are back.

I'm watching QI on BBC. So far they've been eating jelly beans with chopsticks, and trying to catch badminton birdies with chopsticks. it is beyond ridiculous. Then the Giant of Cerne and his penis went on screen. (spot the little girl with her lollipop) If I was drinking alcohol, I think i'd be on the floor crying by now.

The Republican candidate for state governor was standing on the side of the road with a bunch of signs and some supporters, and I wasn't really paying attention and beeped and waved at him. He looked overjoyed and waved back, and then I looked at the signs more closely and realized oh crap, that's the wrong guy. It was truly absurd because the Democratic candidate is Black, but based on the neighborhood being pretty Dem, I just assumed that the guy I waved at was a staffer for the Dem.
Anyway, I now find this hilarious because there's no way in hell I'm going to vote for that guy.

Small children telling jokes for Hallowe'en candy. Bad jokes. Very bad jokes.
I enjoyed their facial expressions after I offered them eyeballs. (suckers with an eyeball on the wrapper.)

There are some excellent jokes flying around online today about the lions 'escaping' from their enclosure at Taronga zoo. (More likely to be keeper error and a cage left unlocked than an actual escape, I would guess)

Arrogant lawyer I'm dealing with and his very obvious power plays.
His latest correspondance he directed to our CEO rather than the COO and I who've been dealing with the matter. He also wrote: "The company has got this process horrendously wrong and it will proceed at its peril. Kneazle and COO acted with a blatant disregard and seemingly lack of knowledge of basic employment law obligations including those arising under the Employment Relations Act 2000."
I told my boss I don't know why he hired me since I clearly don't know how to do my job!

The thing is we've been through mediation and the mediator said we'd done nothing wrong. Our lawyers also say we've done nothing wrong.
He's fixated on one thing which is completely irrelevant. The amount he wants to settle this is insane. We've counter offered so we'll see how it goes.

Alexei Sayle was on fire last night. "I worry for Jacob Rees Moggs. What will he do when his looks go?"

I'll google Parrot tits 馃ぃ
I'm probably going to hell for this, but I'm currently laughing over the person run over three times by their own car--the sequence of events is so unlikely! Of course, if she dies, it won't be funny any more.

LC has a food tech assessment tomorrow. They have had to design a meal (family dinner) and will cook it tomorrow in class. Had to be nutritionally balanced etc.
Anyway, apparently the teacher told them today she will be marking on presentation as 'some of you are really bad cooks and I'm not going to eat your food'.
I cracked up. - talk about honesty.
To be fair, with remote learning last year this group are way behind in practical lessons but doing the assessments as the other groups who had all their practical lessons last year.

My nephew once cooked a meal on a 'white' theme. My sister ate it. Parent of the year award. Pancakes, spagghetti, whipped cream (unsweetened). If only she'd known she was gluten intolerant!

I had to get a technical certification to be a site admin when I joined company, it was a horrible painful test.
I got told on Friday I would have to re-certify by repeating the test. I did not look forward to the suffering.
Read the manual and did the test on Monday and was thinking "this is much easier than last time"
Totally forgetting that in 2019 I worked on a revised manual and a new test with my IT colleagues. It's easier because I wrote the questions.
Told IT lead. He is enjoying the joke very much and spinning it that IT made the creator of the test do the test and surprise - She found it easy!

Heh. Another test related laugh.
LC had an Italian assessment at school today. Came home in a mixed mood. The test was an online one so results were available immediately, and he got 104/105. But, it was the wrong test.
So the results don't count and they have to sit another test next week.

Somebody in one election ran an ad that included an endorsement from a guy called Dick Bigger Jnr. I know this because he turned up on Jimmy Kimmel (starts at about the four minute mark)

Yesterday, frantically googling 'Hi together' to try and work out, during a lesson, if this was a mistranslation used by Europeans in English, or what the cool kids are now starting their meetings with.
(it's a mistranslation. phew.)
