we have it all. Money no problem. Time no problem. Fitness - nothing creaks, groans or hurts, you whizz up steep hills, come down safely, and have cast iron stomachs. Covid obviously isn't around or any of the other nasties.
You can take your significant other, or kids, if you wish, as long as there are no moans, I'm tired, are we there yet? or can we go to McDonalds?
OH... and you have NEVER been there before.
Where would you go?
me: Mexico Valley of the Butterflies.

I'd really like to travel some of the Silk Road, particularly the 'Stans.

Amazonia! Peru, Colombia, Ecuador.
Plus about 3000 other places: that's an impossible question.

Like Liisa, too many to pick just one, but parts of Siberia are right up there as I want to see some of places I heard about from my parents who spent time in the gulags compliments of Stalin.

And about 3000 other places too, just like Liiisa.

I'd really like to travel some of the Silk Road, particularly the 'Stans. yes, this one for me too I think. Although I'd like to include Iran in that trip too. And the more I'm reading about Indonesia, the more I want to go. Combined with a few more SE-Asian countries (Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam). Too many to choose!

Rafting down the Grand Canyon. I know it's not very exciting, but it's been on my to do list for nearly 20 years.
And the skeleton coast. Nothing like a drizzly Scotland to make a person want to look at hot rocks!

Lots of fabulous ideas and we are an adventurous lot. Sophie - that would be so bitter sweet coupling the knowledge that they got out with what they had to endure to do so.

This thread title is giving me a Kylie Minogue ear worm, I'm glad it's not just me! The obvious answer is Everywhere. More specifically I guess one of the more expensive plans would be New York staying somewhere really swanky, Broadway tickets the works. And given I've got endless money in this situation there'd be an epic pissup for those in NYC and nearby.

I didn't know it either, whothingie! My excuse is being in the northern hemisphere, but that's not really an excuse because I know who Kylie Minogue is (she's on a Nick Cave record!)
If we're also talking endless money, after my eco-tour of Amazonia I would need to travel around the world and have a series of RTW pissups. If this really is post-plague fantasy-land and I don't need to get back to work, I would do that on ships.

She was a HUGE star here at the time, thanks to a teatime soap opera which was compulsory viewing when I was in school. She remains a massive star here - I mean they wrote a Dr Who christmas special around her!

She’s actually a bigger star in the UK than Australia. She move to England in 1987 and has lived there ever since. She still has Australian citizenship and has “earned” herself British citizenship by living, and working, there. If she likes London so much she can bloody well stay there!

River there's a whole section of society atm that shows that enmity, often towards the Australians trying to get home in this pandemic world of ours. It's really weird.
Second only to the weirdness of toilet paper stockpiling, which happened again this week in regions not even going into lockdown in WA!

See we were so far behind with Neighbours that by the time her episodes started screening here she was already a pop star. I managed to convince my mum to let me watch the first episode she was in and she didn't come on until the end. Mum really wasn't impressed as she could have been watching the current affairs show on the other channel.

Imagination is a wonderful thing, it can take you anywhere in the world, through any time era. As time is not of the essence in the OP, one could travel all around the world visiting every country and by the time you arrived back to where you started, it would be time to go off md do it lol over gin!
I’d like to travel across Russia via the Trans Siberian Railway from Vladivostok to Moscow making certain stops along the way. First, I’d fly to Seoul, stay there about a month, visiting historical sites, eat red ginseng, take Korean cookery classes. I’d have a photo taken of me wearing hanbok and danghye. Head off down south to Busan for a bit. On to Vladivostok a few days then the train adventure begins. I’d change at Ulan Ude, go to Mongolia to Ulaan Baatar for the Naadam Festival.
Back to Russia to continue my journey, stopping at Lake Baikal, Irkutsk, and Yekaterinburg. Moscow, St. Petersburg.
Then to Deshaies in Basse-Terre Island, Guadeloupe for a while. Maybe go to Africa for Safari, see the wildebeest. Watch lions in the wild.

Yes sprite... well, Africa sounds like a lot of work! I mean, South America is a lot of work too, but it's a shorter flight for me, and I speak Spanish better than French these days.

I will never get dr W3 to Africa, so I think it's out for me while he's around. Although I did start a conversation about Ethiopia a few years ago, sadly I think that place is now off the table.
South America is not somewhere that enters my travel consciousness much, although for a long time I yearned to go to Venezuela after reading a book, but again, I think this destination is off the table too now.
I think, on a more positive note, we utilised the small window of opportunity around 6 years ago and went to Burma!

I feel that I should expand my travel horizons a bit and travel more to SE Asia, Nepal, Japan etc. I'd love to go back to Indonesia. Would also love to visit some Polynesian islands but it is so ridiculously expensive to fly from here and I'd like more time than the 2 weeks holiday at a time I can take from work.
But I love South America and so does my husband (although he also has a thing for African countries and cold places like Greenland and Iceland. His travel dream is Svalbard).

Where are you from Tucano? I thought you lived in America. Living at the arse-end of the world as someone so inelegantly said, it is so expensive to travel nowhere in the world, except for New Zealand which is like just across the road so to speak - it is quicker to fly to New Zealand than it is for me to fly to Darwin or Perth! Which is why my first overseas trip was to New Zealand 🇳🇿 followed by Malaysia 🇲🇾 and Cambodia 🇰🇭. It is far cheaper to fly to SEA than to go to Europe.
