i also loved sherlock (can't wait for the next series) and wouldn't mind seeing elementary. i like lucy liu and would like to see her doing stuff that isn't about being a dominatrix bitch.
being human is quite good too, and i love 'midwife.' i missed the christmas episode because i was in canda and then forgot to watch online back in the uk.
when we move back to the uk, we're considering something like netflix as we don't watch much tv but when we want to, can never find anything on.

I don't have a TV sprite so only watch on catch up or Netflix. I only pat £4.99 a month for it. I think it's worth the money.

I have just realised that I have seen some of UK Being Human. Didn't recognise the title, but recognised the characters in the opening.

yeah, my parents have netflix and are happy, and we're really enjoying watching the particular series on our own time, so it's looking good for that sort of subscription.

Has anyone seen Nashville? Any good?

Post by tinaja on Mar 2, 2013 9:27:28 GMT -5
I've been watching Nashville because I caught the pilot episode on a plane. Tammy Taylor (Connie Britton) from Friday Night Lights is the lead. That drew me in. It is just an easy watch and I don't pick it apart too much.
It took a long time to get to watching Downton Abby, but I like it. Watched it on my Kindle while on the treadmill the months of Jan & Feb.
Sons of Anarchy--I saw today that Jimmy Smitts is going to be a regular next season. MadMen--is it ever coming back? Like when? Breaking Bad--sadly in its last season.

Well, I wtached all of Sherlock in a very short span of time and then got withdrawal symptoms or something.
Just discovered both Freaks and Geeks and Doctor Who (starting with the Tenth Doctor). Enjoying both very much.

I just finished watching Justified, which was interesting. After four seasons, I'm still not sure about Timothy Olyphant in that role.
I've now started watching The Americans, which I think I'm slowly getting into. And I'm so excited The Borgias and Game of Thrones are back on.

Broadchurch was ace. Olivia Colman was brilliant, especially in the last episode.
The Politician's Wife, which started on bbc2 last night and also has David Tennant in it, is promising, but the first programme was very UK-centric so not sure if they'll manage to sell it overseas.
I've also started watching Arne Dahl but not sure I'll stick with it.

What I'm watching and loving right now is:
* Season 3 of Game of thrones (GoT) * In the flesh (new zombie series) * Vikings (think GoT with vikings) * Defiance (wild west sci-fi - think Firefly)
I plan to give "Hannibal", "The bates motel" and "The Continuum" a go.
Oh and whenever "Black sails" start to air, I'm in. GoT but with Pirates! The same for AMC's "Ballistic City", described as "Blade Runner meets Battlestar Galactica!!!

Anyone seen Sons of Anarchy and the one where the guy makes his own meth lab? I might try those next.
Just on final season of Burn Notice. It's good, but a little over it now.

Sons of Anarchy has been really popular here (Melbourne). I haven't seen it.
I've seen a couple of episodes of Hannibal - not sure how much I like it yet, though the guy that plays Lecter is a good choice.

I really liked season 1-3 when I watched them earlier in the year but it's got a bit 'let's all learn and grow' in season 4, it's a laugh track and an annoying toddler away from Full house. Ok maybe not - it does have it's funny moments but there's been a definite drop from season 3 to 4.

There was a massive change with the writers and overall showrunner with season 4, so that could be it.

Ah That'd be it, either way it doesn't look like it'll be picked up for a 5th season

Yeah, I am not enjoying this season of Community much. Boo. And it was one of my favourite shows for the first three seasons. The change in writers-showrunner did it.
