Please post here with your favourite TV series.
I've just finished watching The Tudors, and sadly Merlin has just finished FOREVER, so I am looking for ideas to keep me entertained until Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead come back. What shows do you love and why?
Yes, I know I should get a life and get off the couch, but I don't wanna.

Downton Abbey - You've got to love a good period drama - it's worth watching for Dame Maggie Smith alone but it's brilliant Doctor Who - I'm not sure why I love it but I do - I'm a recent convert, I'd watched quite a bit of the current Doctor with my flatmates and liked it so about a year ago I went back to the beginning of the reboot and watched all the episodes and came out the other end with a crush on David Tennant and a new obsession. Castle - it's really just your basic police procedural with a Will they/won't they subplot but it's a lot of fun.

I do love Castle. I really wanted to hate it when I first watched it, but I really like it.

I've been watching Torchwood, Misfits, Downton Abbey, True Blood on iplayer.
I'm looking for suggestions. I tend to gravitate towards British stuff or HBO programmes.
Downton Abby is properly horrendous but I adore the costumes and the sets.
Kneazle, you should watch Torchwood. It's a spinoff of Dr Who. The main character has a fling with the Doctor.

Love Misfits - have been watching it on DVD but we've finally caught up with the latest serires on TV. Started again this week - yay!
Parks and Recreation - one of the funniest things on TV.
Grimm - way behind everyone else as I waited til it came to free-to-air here, but I do enjoy it.
A Moody Christmas was a good 6 part show (filmed in my suburb, so you get glimpses of a park I took LC to all the time)
Tangled - but you probably watched that ages ok, we are behind on this one.

Here's a few I can't wait to watch whenever they come out:
Castle - it's taken a bit of a dip lately but still enjoyable Good Wife - just love it, the writing's good and Josh Charles is hot Person of Interest - it's a bit 90s in the 'do-gooders' aspect but I really like the characters, especially the guy who was in Lost as wel (cba to google) Grimm - great escapism. I wish they'd get rid of the girlfriend though, I find her annoying The Big Bang Theory - I find it goes up and down but lately it's been quite funny Robot Chicken - I think this will only appeal to 30-somethings as most of the things they parody came out in the 80s/early 90s Southpark - I'm not even going to justify this one, it's just great

MASH, all of the Star Treks, Big Bang, Bones, and 7th Heaven, which is on at 10 am every morning, so I got addicted again after my knee operation.

Oh and I watched back to back 4400. Started well but is now amazingly boring. AMAZINGLY BORING. I dont know why I keep going with it but I want to see how it pans out.
Sherlock - BBC version - was bloody marvellous imo. I cant believe the merkins are remaking it.
I'd like to see what the merkins did with Misfits.

Have you seen In Treatment? I am so sad that show is over. It's all about a therapist and his patients....and each episode is a different treatment session. It's engrossing.
Parks and Recreation - such a good cast of funny folks. Downton Abbey - those costumes, the drama! Portlandia (that's some funny shit) Arrested Development - also hilarious and I can't wait for them to come out with more...is it a rumor, isn't it? Who knows. Parenthood - nighttime soaps kind of stuff, but it deals with the gritty stuff that families do - marriage, kids, all ages of strife. It's just a good show. Breaking Bad - I think I just like to root for Jesse! Weeds - I love to hate Nancy Botwin. And I love to feel bad for Uncle Andy.

OK, I watched the pilot of Torchwood last night. Not bad, will continue I think. I realised I have actually seen an episode of it before - a season finale (not sure which season).

Parenthood- love this drama Grimm- when do the new episodes come back?? Lost- finally getting through this one. I'm almost done with season 2 Big Bang Theory- I resisted this one because of the annoying laugh track- but it's hilarious How I met your mother- this one is excellent- and you can watch all the episodes on Netflix. It actually doesn't matter which order you watch them in for the most part. Super funny. Downton Abbey- Flash said the latest season is available online since it already played in the UK. I might have to cheat and watch ahead.

Parenthood just keeps getting better and better. Downton Abbey Call the Midwife Big Bang Theory Two Broke Girls
I've given up my HBO so there will be no Game of Thrones or TrueBlood
And for reasons I can't explain I feel guilty if I don't follow MadMen, WalkingDead, BreakingBad, Portlandia and some things to come.

When I was in highschool, one of my girlfriends was dating Nathan Fillion (fr. Castle). He is literally the nicest guy. But, back in those days, he wore super long hair in a ponytail, and liked to wear white, flowy poet shirts. Ha ha. My fave tv shows of all time? MASH, Star Trek, V Fave recent ones: The Wire, Oz (both super gritty, but impossible to look away). Oohh jealous, he's hot! The Wire and Oz are great, I remember when Oz was on and I *had to* keep watching it. Latest discovery - Arrow. Very Batmanesque but entertaining (based on a DC Comic character)

Is Call the Midwife based on the book by the same name? If so, I have to see it, as I loved the book!
I also forgot to mention MadMen. I feel so ashamed!

Oooh! I hope it gets imported here, then. I loved, loved the book. It was so good - made me cry and really made the East End come to life.

Does anyone know Once Upon a Time? That recently started here, haven't seen it yet, but the previews make it look like an interesting concept. Worth watching?

Currently watching/just finished/waiting on new series to come out:
Sons of Anarchy Glee (don't judge me!) Gossip Girl Criminal Minds True Blood Deadliest Catch Downton Abbey Secret Diary of a Call Girl The Tudors
We also have Series 1 of Friday Night Lights and Game of Thrones that we haven't started yet.
On top of that there's a bunch of random dvd sets like Man Vs Food (me) and various Car sets (Rallyboy) that are for ad-hoc watching. I really should take a photo of the pile and post it!
