ah, also, my guitar teacher got a job at a music school and apparently they allow for her to bring along her private students (after all, she'll be teaching there the day i currently have class with her) - so if that works out, the journey will be 10 mins longer, but i'll safe about 60-70 euros per month ...

also, got ice cream today, and the guy gave us huge amounts - and i made a remark about how difficult it is to decide, as all the flavors look nice but i can't eat more than two - and then he started putting little bits of each flavor on top of my two scoops of ice cream. had to stop him after a bit, as otherwise i wouldn't have been able to eat it all ...

Doing a clothes swap with friends so I don't have to race out and buy new winter school shirts for LC. His old ones go to one friend, I get the next size from another friend. It's handy that we have boys in consecutive sizes!

I've volunteered to be an extra kiddie wrangler for a Year 9 history trip going on one morning in a few weeks time. We are going to the Gestapo museum in Cologne so Ms History Buff was first to put her hand. I've just taught my Year 9 German class and mentioned I was going to be coming along and 2 of the girls actually cheered. Lots of warm fuzziness.

My friend's husband seems to have finally stopped resisting the inevitable and they're getting a cat.
My friend and the kids are desperate for a cat and a cat will be adopted into a good home.

No - refer to my last post in the Netflix thread.
Edit to add: Sorry - I shouldn't be so obscure.

The city of Toulouse has deigned to grant my stinky old diesel car an exemption to enter their low emission zone area in the centre, for the days I will be travelling there. I think it's a good idea - there is a scheme in place that cars that normally wouldn't be allowed in the city centre can apply for an exemption for a limited number of days per year - which suits me as a traveller perfectly. On the back of that, I've just booked a really nice looking one bedroom apartment much closer to the centre of town than I would have been able to book without the exemption.

A friend brought home a new puppy today. They didn't tell the kids what was happening, so she's been sharing a lot of photos of incredibly happy kids coming home from school and finding a puppy in the house.
(their old dog died last year, the family had talked about getting a new dog but the kids thought it was a plan for much later this year)

My friend's husband seems to have finally stopped resisting the inevitable and they're getting a cat. My friend and the kids are desperate for a cat and a cat will be adopted into a good home. They met a lovely tuxedo cat tonight. She needs a Mico chip fitted and then she's there to adopt!

The demon project was finally officially laid to rest today.
I skipped the meeting because it was titled "technical review" and I've been to three of those already since it fake ended... but if I'd know I might have poured myself a glass of wine and joined.

Cute cat. I’m happy because I’ve got rid of 4 more large bags of stuff. 3 to craft group for others to use, and a huge bag of shredded paper to the bin.

My first social security check arrived in my bank account. My friend said that her first one was a paper check. Strange. Anyway I am on my way to getting back to normal as retirement is.
