Driving back from Mum's and the car dash was showing 45C by the time we got home. Bah. I'm sure that isn't the actual outside temp but I'd guess it was close to 40.

Storm watch for the Northeastern USA. There's definitely something big coming out of the midwest, but the predictions keep changing for exactly where and how much snow there will be. Stay tuned.

I just got all excited because I checked the Weather App before posting this, and the graphic in the background was of lovely big fluffy snowflakes coming down. I raced to the window to see if it was true, but unfortunately not a sign of a flake. Maybe overnight... Currently 1C - positively balmy after the -12C of early yesterday morning

Well, remember my post a few days ago? It hasn't stopped raining and my day trip yesterday turned into a day / night / day trip as I was cut off by flooding for my return trip.
It was quite scary out there actually - I was only in a shitty little guvvie car (corolla) and that was one giant f*cker of a storm I missed on the way there (I have never, ever seen such a thing - the entire sky to the ground was black, not grey). Where I was for the day didn't see a drop of rain, yet the town 50 km away that I drove through on my aborted return journey was completely flooded two hours before I drove back through it - a woman showed me a video on her phone - it was amazing.
I crossed one creek after waiting for another car to come by and "supervise" me, but the second one proved too much and the car I waited for at that crossing told me not to bother even trying because the next creek had held up everyone. That's when I turned around and went back to spend the night at the town where I'd spent the day.
The sun is shining at home now :-)

Belting rain, big electrical storm has nocked out a sub station so no power at the house, no, shower, work site has power. Luckily it is a construction site so no one notices I haven't had a shower.

Organic milk AND arugula! No, no one has snow tires here. We're in the south, y'all.
Snowing and snowing and snowing and snowing and snowing....

Very heavy cloud cover. Snow expected this evening and overnight. They're saying there won't be much north of Boston, but I'll believe that when it's over.

psw, Spawn was laughing at me yesterday because they only have 2"! (coastal Maine). Well, it makes up for the astonishing amounts of snow you guys had last year. We're generous souls. We'll share. The snow has started. I wonder how much we'll really get. There's a chocolate tasting scheduled for this evening, and no word that it's been cancelled. So off we'll go in a couple of hours, we hope.

We made it to the chocolate tasting through the snow, up and down some hills very carefully. By the time it ended, the snow had tapered off and the plows had made a first pass, so the trip home was easier.
About half of the people who had signed up stayed home. All the more for the rest of us!

Sunny and warm(er)! Just walked into town, and it was pretty nice out. But this probably means that all the snow that's melting now is going to freeze overnight and create a delightful situation in the morning.

I haven't opened the curtains yet, but judging by the sound effects it's raining and windy - and a south-westerly wind because the planes are using the over -city approach to Schiphol.

humid as fuck. We had a huge storm about an hour ago, it was hot before that, cooled down briefly but now it is even more humid than before. Just hideous, I'm in a puddle of sweat from doing the walk back from school. There is a possibility of more storms and in a way that would be good to cool everything down again.

Snow flurries just starting. Forecast is for well above freezing tomorrow, so I'm hoping that it'll all melt.
