Saw "X-men days of future past" and it was really really good. A thoroughly enjoyable film, best out of them for a while.

Saw Wolf of Wall Street last week and really enjoyed it. Took me forever to persuade MrCat to see it but he enjoyed it too.
Saw Last Chance over the weekend which is the story of Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts. Not the greatest film but was perfect for what I needed.
Also saw Philomena at the weekend. Thought it was great. Love Judi Dench!

Nothing. Might see Godzilla as a popcorn movie. I recorded Cat on a Hot Tin Roof off the TV yesterday, as I've never seen it. Planning to watch this evening.

I just saw Boyhood, Richard Linklater's film that was filmed with the same cast over 12 years. Amazing. I really enjoyed it.

Saw 'The Fault in our Stars' on Saturday night. It was very sad and I didn't foresee the ending as I haven't read the book but I also found it quite a nice film in a weird way.

Begin Again
It's a summer feel-good movie, simple story - It's billed as a romance, but it's not really... lots of "I've been there" moments for anyone who's been to New York.
Mark Ruffalo is pretty sexy, in a bad-boy dangerous way - with good hair.
Worth seeing, plus cinemas are air-conditioned.

Machete Kills. LOVED IT! I'd had this one recommended to me by a client and it was fabulous - totally over the top stupid stuff. Charlie Sheen is the president of the USA, Mel Gibson has an army of clones and Sofia Vergara shoots knives out of her tits. What more could you ask for in a movie?

i just saw the movie "Zwei Leben" (Two Lives). German/Norwegian movie, had never heard of it and kind of went to see this accidentally (something we had planned was sold out). but wow. very good, impressive movie. about stasi spies in regular norwegian life, but it's not a WW2/German wall spy story. very well done. oh, and tzarine, sorry, didn't see your question before! My favourite Miyazaki... love many of them, Howl is definitely in the top now. Also really like Spirited Away and Mononoke Hime. And Laputa. And Kiki. Hmm... and most of the others ;-)

I saw: Divergent - hated it. They've changed the whole feel from the book. She's not the same character at all, they miss out on explaining relationships and why she end up doing what she did. Even basic settings in the book such as the lack of railings in the Dauntless compound to the river being missing in the pit. & it was like they are so afraid to show the violence in the book - I mean they don't have to show it graphically for a YA audience but the effects of it was hidden too.
Captain America 1 & 2 - liked the first, not the second.
Oh and some terrible film with Arnie in it about drug police agents.
Forgot "Bend it like Beckham" which somehow I'd not seen yet. Loved it in spite of it's predictability.

Monty Python (mostly) live, (subtitled "one down, five to go).
Great fun, if you're a fan at all you'll enjoy this. It's an all-singing, all-dancing show of their most famous skits. With a few knowing nods to what's happened since.

Saw Lucy on Saturday.
Annoying to the point of ridiculous. There were several moments in the movie where people were openly laughing.
I know it's science fiction, but this places fast and lose with science (not least because the premise has already been so roundly debunked), and the story is just not strong enough to let you forget that.

I caught up on some movies on the flight:
The Railway Man - beautiful film that I really enjoyed. I'm not usually a big fan of Nicole Kidman but I liked her in this.
Three Days Left - action with Kevin Costner (one of my crushes) so I am a bit biased. Storyline was average but I enjoyed it overall.
About Time - I really like Rachel McAdams and I loved her in this. Beautiful story with likeable characters.
I also started watching Diana but didn't get more than 10mins into it.

I found About Time creepy in how manipulative the men were by altering the past to suit them and to get what they wanted.
