Don't leave out if you liked it or not (spoiler free of course).
So far this year I've had a terrible cinema year and only seen 2 at the cinema:
The Hobbit - and I loved it.
"Django unchained" - it was FAB! Part-blaxploitation film, part-spaghetti Western and all-Tarantino. Stylish, well acted, excellent dialog, sooo wonderfully OTT and so very funny. Highly recommended unless you have weak constitution or just don't like QT's style.
Other than that I saw "Sapphires" on TV and thought it was enjoyable.
I've been re-watching a lot of films and watched TV sereis instead though but that's a different post.

Dark Zero Thirty- loved it, jessica chastain's character is kick arse, didn't notice the long duration.
Django- slightly too long. V pleased the dr won an Oscar.
The Impossible - wow. No island family holidays, ever. I cried lots.

Django Unchained - the first film I've seen in nearly four years. It was amazing, stupendous, fantastic - all the superlatives. I haven't laughed so much watching a film , ever. (And it made its point - which is why I went to see it - as well.)
Les Miserables - Oh dear! It should come with a warning -' take tissues and eye reviver' - cos at least half the audience, myself included, was sniffling all the way through. Powerful stuff, powerfully acted and filmed.
Next I'm going to see Robot & Frank, which my son assures me I'll enjoy immensely. Having read a little about it, I think I'll need to see it as an antidote to 'Les Mis'.
(Modified because - horrors - an apostrophe in 'its')

Another vote for Django. I love QT films and this was another great one. It was long but I didn't notice it that much.
The Hobbit - was ok but I found it very long. Felt like they could have ,are it much shorter than dragging out some of the scenes. Saw it in 3D though and the effects were amazing.
Life of Pi - lovely story with amazing scenery
Taken 2 - I love Liam Neeson so I'm a little biased. Not as good as the first or but I watched it on a flight so was good to waste an hour or two.

Argo - saw it on the plane last month and thought it was great. Full of suspense action and Ben Affleck looking hot, even with 70s lapels and facial hair...
Saw Les Mis on Sunday afternoon. I've seen the stage show about 5 times so knew what to expect and wore waterproof mascara. By the end, the tears that trickled down my face had formed little pools in the hollows of my collarbones! Thought Hugh and Anne were great, also Eddie Redmayne and Aaron Tveit, but Russell Crowe's voice just wasn't strong enough to be a convincingly sinister and ruthless Javert

Argo - saw it on the plane last month and thought it was great. Full of suspense action and Ben Affleck looking hot, even with 70s lapels and facial hair... He looked good in the seventies! And beards seem to be in fashion at least at the oscars - much to the amusement of my bearded colleague! Right; movies Argo - brilliant, great story Amour - intense, touching, intimate ... Sad but hopeful in a weird way.

EGB and I watched "Midnight in Paris" on TV last night, which was really enjoyable - and brought back lots of lovely memories of our Paris Piss-up last year! It's a quirky Woody Allen movie involving time travel and lots and lots of chocolate box shots of Paris!

I saw Skyfall. As Bond films go it was better than all the Brosnan ones but seemed too arty and deep to be a Bond film. And how does he lose the gun before he even gets to shoot it?

The German movie Barbara was pretty good. Doctor in the DDR c. 1980, facing a moral dilemma between her duties as a physician and her desire to get out to the West.
The Oscar-nominated animated shorts were also good. Funnier and less artsy than usual.

Oh, I really liked the book and I thought the film was ok too...!
I recently saw the Chilean film No! with Gael Garcia Bernal. About the end of the Pinochet dictatorship, and mixes documentary footage and fiction. I liked it, but then I was always going to since I'm interested in South America and its recent history. And did I mention it has Gael Garcia Bernal in it?

I watched Soul Kitchen last night - had wanted to see it when it was on here at one of the film festivals, but the date didn't suit and I don't think it got general release in this country.
Anyway a very good and funny German movie with a great soundtrack. (and it didn't rely on slapstick for the humour)

We saw the new Ryan Gossling flick- The Place Beyond the Pines- super good. Reminded me how much I liked Blue Valentine and Drive.
The Hobbit was good- not super good, but definitely worth watching at home.
Gonna watch Lincoln soon.
