^^^^ cannot wait to see that!
Argh, I'm desperate to go to the movies with Mr Surfy. It's the one thing we've just not been able to do, since Master Surfy came along (no baby sitter possibility atm). So many movies I want to see!

Surfy, we only get to go once or twice a year it seems since LC. When we do organise our kid free babysitter time, bands and going out to meals end up being more important than movies, much as we used to love going to them in the past.

I possibly want to do it more because it's the one thing we can't easily do with him. Going out to dinner and National Trust places and Camping etc has been a doddle thus far!

You should look up a parents and baby screening of what you fancy seeing. My brother went to the movies on Saturday with his newborn.

I caught up on movies on the plane a few weeks ago: Skyfall, Argo, The perks of being a wallflower, Zero Dark 30, Inglorious Bastards. And I think something else I can't remember (I really haven't been to the regular cinema this year, as you can tell). Of these, loved Argo most. Brilliant movie.

Saw Gatsby last weekend but didn't like it as much as I thought I would. The ony way I can describe it is like thatre acting which I won't really enjoy.
Also saw the Hangover 3 a couple of weeks ago. Few funny parts but not as good as the first one. Let's hope they leave it at that now.

I saw "World war z" and I liked it a lot. It has almost +nothing+ in common with the book and I went to see it expecting just that.
The zombies are fantastically well done, like a rabid, superfast, horryfying rat-behaving hoard. The ending was a bit of a fizzle but still overall thumps up for me.
For a film in this genre it had very little visable gore, stil ago didn't think it was appropriate to bring in a kid 7ish year old that needed a boster box to be able to see.

Saw Monsters University yesterday with LC (his first time at an actual cinema). Maybe it was because I wasn't expecting much as the reviews have generally been rather poor, but it was good fun and a sweet movie, with enough jokes for adults.
Certainly it seems the poor reviews had the crowd numbers down - it was a wet Saturday after a week of rain, and first weekend of the school holidays. The complex was packed with young kids and families, but they must have all headed to Despicable Me 2, which was on at the same time, as our screen was one of the smaller ones and was less than half full.

Seen a few movies/dvds lately. Flight (ok, I stayed awake), The Master (The Mumbler more like, fell asleep), Perks of a Wallflower (loved!), This is 40 (quite funny, bit OTT) and at the cinema, World War Z in 3D. It was the mr's choice for his birthday and we were in gold class, so it was quite novel with our feet up and dessert delivered. I like zombies and enjoyed this movie, it was pure entertainment.
Bowed out of seeing Gatsby for this month's book club, glad I did. Theatrical acting, urgh.

I loved The Master! The acting was incredible. This is 40 - liked it more than I was expecting to. Appreciated some of the honesty it presented. Silver linings Playbook - was impressed with Bradley Cooper being able to act. Liked the story but I felt one more rounds of edits on the screenplay could have opened it up a bit more. Really liked it. This is a Disaster - funny premise but it was entertaining. The Guilt Trip - I fell asleep.

Looper.
Strange. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was good. Bruce Willis got to blast things with big guns.

I saw "Pacific Rim" - robots fighting monsters would risk being a huge let down but with del Toro at the helm, it becomes the quintessential summer blockbuster entrainment movie if you leave the brain at the door. I was going to say it won't win any awards but it could win effects and there's always the MTV Movie Awards.

Was listening to Angus Fontaine review that today and was thinking a great big no from me. Have tickets to go and see Despicable Me 2 on Saturday. Yay.

The Intouchables The Help
Both excellent films, really liked them both. The first had a lot of humourous bits and I could watch it again many times over. The second one made me sad, it was very good but left me feeling sad.
