I learned what walking around in 41 degrees Celsius feels like ... I wish I could forget that - happens a bit too frequently in summer now.

I've learnt about cinquains. We didn't learn these in school, but LC had to write one in class today. Apparently a lot of the other kids in the class wrote about cute fluffy animals. LC wrote about poison.

I haven't been in a McDonald's since 1978 except to pee; have I been wrong? It smells gross to me.

I haven't been in a McDonald's since 1978 except to pee; have I been wrong? It smells gross to me. i was in one a couple of months ago because i'd had a crap expedition and was in need of coffee/calories/toilets. the fries were as good as ever (the only things i've ever liked there), the coffee was drinkable, and other people's food smelled pretty good. i still don't eat their burgers, as they mix ketechup and mustard, which is an abomination. in amsterdam, we tried to use their toilets, cost us a euro!

Riki, your story reminds me of one time when we were reduced to birdwatching in a Burger King parking lot because we couldn't get into the nearby National Park due to a government shutdown.

At last I know how to write words with capital letters in the middle of a sentence when I send a text message. The beginning of a sentence always had a capital letter, but I used to get so annoyed if I had to use a proper noun in the sentence because I could never work out how to do it, but today I did. I'm so pleased. I've had the phone five years but at least I know how now.

That I'm doing someone else's job quite regularly. I don't want her to fall on her face when I'm co-presenting with her. That would be equally embarrassing for me.
