I don't want her to fall on her face when I'm co-presenting with her. That would be equally embarrassing for me. She's undoubtedly counting on that.

I'm not sure how to fix it other that just let a fiasco happen. I have a soft spot for her dept. because they put the screws to the guy who was giving me grief. Not that he didn't go back to doing it via another angle...like a damn snake where you cut off its head and it keeps slithering.

Today I learned that the loud clacking noise in the dryer wasn't the button on my jeans: it was the flash drive that had been in the jeans' pocket. Welp so much for that one....

I learned that sometimes good ideas may take a while to materialise...
I bought a pair of light purple Converse shoes in Greece 5 or so years ago. Not one for light shoes, but they were a bargain and I figured what the hell. I was wrong. I've worn them probably once or twice.
A light bulb moment resulted in getting black washing machine dye--I've previously dyed clothes successfully, and they're cotton.
It only occurred to me to worry about the white rubber bits once the machine was happily going.
Turns out you can indeed dye Converse trainers in a washing machine and the rubber bits are fine. I now have, in essence, a new pair of Converse. And the excitement after a good half-hour's fretting.

Work functions keep taking on a weird vibe. Not terrible, but just strange. But its also 100 degrees F outside. Maybe part of the oddness.

that it seems to be no use to organize yourself better - as soon as you do, something unexpected happens and throws you right off ...
(like, in my case, if i for once manage to go to bed earlier, surely the kid will wake up at night and keep me awake, so i am just as tired the next day as i was before).

People actually avoid information that threatens their happiness and worldview. They will surround themselves with things they agree with, basically creating their own reality. According to researchers at Carnegie Mellon University, "People often avoid information that could help them to make better decisions if they think the information might be painful to receive."

there's an Anzac in Canada. And there used to be a Tranzac club in Toronto, I never bothered joining but their Annual Anzac Day Bash at the Brunswick House was a spectacle to behold- I used to toke some of my Canadian friends so that I could share the finer points of trans Tasman culture with them, They were always impressed.

That there are people who hold "British Overseas Citizenship" which is a rather useless citizenship class as you can't get a UK Passport with it.

You do have to feel sorry for the poor bugger. Uncharitable folk are now referring to him as "Nick the Pom", but the title carries none of British citizenship's diminishing benefits.

But all these pollies caught up in this mess obviously never made the appropriate enquiries before nominating for parliament. There are no Labor members involved because their party did all the checks required. It's not as though it's a new law, it's been around for yonks.
