So I thought of this thread today. I want to buy a new bed and thought I could check out Black Friday sales. I was curious to see that one of the main brands I was looking at (Sleepyhead) had beds designed/promoted in conjunction with the NZ chiropractors association. I am curious as to what that actually means in practice.

My chiropractor fixed my pain. Physio was useless.
I went with knee pain. Physio treated my knee for weeks, and for $$$$. Chiro made me squat and walk like a duck as a test and when I was able to do that, he said that I don’t have a knee problem, people with knee problems would not be able to do it. He said knee pain came from my back. One session significantly improved the pain. After 3 he gave me exercises too to strengthen thtback. Pain never returned.
For comparison I paid $1000 for physio and 200 for chiro. All reimbursed by insurance later. But those treatments are not covered by our health system, it’s private insurance. My mom who is retired has to pay for such treatments, guess where I took her.
As to education, my chiro has MSc from UBC ( best uni here). And few other diplomas on his walls.

And few other diplomas on his walls. my husband saw a chiropractor years back for back pain - completely stuffed his back up. Pain that bad he ended up on morphine and off work for three weeks. I don't trust them for back problems. He recently went to a physio for back problems and physio had him up and pain free within days. Guess it depends on the condition and the practitioner.

There's a practitioner at the same place as my massage therapist who uses a table pad that's ostensibly filled with amethyst crystals. I thought - isn't that painful? But maybe they're ground up. (But why??!)

One of the pottery ladies has a daughter that sells that oil stuff and she claims the "thieves" oil cured her asthma and digestive issues.
She keeps trying to sell it to me but I told her I bought it on sale on Amazon. She freaked out. I laughed. It's just scented oils.

The Doterra oils and blends do smell great but there is no way I am forking out that much for them - a friend gave me a free sample of something and yes, it really did clear out the sinuses. As would anything else that strong - I remember my Dad using Friar's balsam when I was a kid.

the doterra ladies seem a bit creepy to me
you can get the same oils from a health food store for a lot less!

Tea Tree oil has been helping my itches more than hydrocortisone or antihistamine creams.

Lemon myrtle oil is good too, as well as acting as a repellant.
