Spawn spins wool while watching movies. It's a thing to do with your hands, I guess, plus I suppose the raw wool is cheaper than the skeins. Does he knit with it?

Why are people following me on Substack? I don't have a substack.

Yes, though I know he buys prespun/dyed yarn too.... I just don't have the patience to knit or crochet much. I can make a long scarf and that's about it. Though when I was young, I did make my dad a sweater vest.

How does the post office expect me to know why my package is due £1.10 if they haven't ticked any of their own boxes?

Out of 3 locations of a high end burger chain, why is only one a friendly clean place to eat?

Why do I follow the parasite lady? Or more, why did I follow the parasite lady when she moved from Twitter to Bluesky? She always posts gross photos of parasites just as I'm getting ready to eat my dinner. Fascinating but GROSS

I sometimes work with a clever, strong, independent woman who is also a journalist. She does interviews with various moderately well-known people from a particular country where she speaks the language.
I follow her on FB.
1. Why does she appear to tolerate quite a lot of middle aged male followers who do nothing but tell her how pretty she is? (in real life she seems quite confident and doesn't care what people think about her.) 2. Why does she post so many photos from inside a car, often talking about having a great day which is unrelated to cars? 3. Who told her to always use the same facial expression which makes her look as though she's just seen something mildly surprising on the roof of the car while trying to get soemthing strange-tasting out of her mouth? It is nothing like her normal--and very engaging--smile.
bah.

Wondering if the colour balance is wrong on my TV, because the Aussie rugby kit looks orange (Dutch football kit orange).

why people persist in groping & exchanging saliva @ museums? or dressing like you are on tindr/grindr looking?
i know MOMA has been designated a "place to be seen" but my quiet whitney is turning that way too

Oh definitely - but I have no control over it. I don't eat it for breakfast - I just eat it like candy, so best to keep far far away.
Breakfast is no sugar added muesli with plain low-fat yogurt, which is fine at 5:30 in the morning.

Yes, you are. But there's a funny sketch about this from John Finnamore's Souvenir Programme (Radio 4).

You do you, clearly, tucano, but curious to know how many towels you own? When I'm in hotels that invite you to hang your towels up if you don't need them changing, I always think, well yes - because surely at home you don't change them every day?!

I also do weekly. (That link mentioned some people only do it every 3 months! Ew....)

I've started doing just sponge baths, so very little of me needs drying by the time I'm done, so very little towel gets used.
I'm the one who does most of the laundry, and I can't be arsed to monitor another adult's towel, so towels are washed on my schedule/inclination. Partner does, about every 2 months, realise his towel needs cleaning and he does the whole load.

We do our own separate laundry so I don't know what schedule he washes his on.

I used to do that when I lived with an asshole, but partner is grown up enough that not ony can he operate the machine, he can put his clothes away in less than a month.
(ok, the asshole had ADHD, which I now know made it difficult for him to do boring jobs, but he also tried to make it both my fault and my responsibility that his shirts were wrinkled.)

I lived in a country where a towel was a prize possession, and often shared! They got hung out in the sun every day. I’m not sure they were ever washed. Here I wash mine every week or so.

Why did I just read a long Glamour magazine article about someone's frustrating experiences of being a bridesmaid, accompanied by a video showing bridesmaid dresses and hosiery styles over the past 100 years? I guess it was anthropological-type fascination with alien cultures.

I guess it was anthropological-type fascination with alien cultures. Perhaps I should write my own version, having been a bridesmaid 5 times, starting at age 10, including twice in the same week. The craziest was being sewn into our dresses by the bride’s mother, who insisted on making them, but didn’t finish in time.
