We've confirmed a Horizon Air Q400 that had an unauthorized takeoff from SeaTac around 8pm has gone down near Ketron Island in Pierce County, WA. We're working to confirm who was on board, we believe there were no guests or crew on board other than the person operating the plane.

I took notice particularly as I flew back to Australia from SeaTac, and have several friends in the area.

i was just thinking back to a few weeks ago during vacation, when a. lost us in a supermarket (each of us thought she is with the other), and was standing there and crying - i suppose people assumed she just cried because of an argument with her parents or something, but still, it puzzles me a bit that no one noticed she is alone and crying and tried to find out what is going on ...

Why is the horse racing industry still using archaic sexist titles in an age when women jockeys and trainers are equal to men? Male owners in the race book were all listed by initials and surname, A B Smith, but female owners are Mrs C D Jones, Ms E F Brown or even Miss G H Green!

LC and I had a massive nerf battle on Sunday in the garden bit of the apartment complex. A few nerf bullets went astray. I thought we had picked most of them up, but they are still appearing. What is puzzling is that they are appearing in places that I swear were Nerf free the previous day. So I found one in the garden next to the driveway yesterday, after having driven and walked past that bit of garden many times since Sunday. Today, one was in the middle of the path round from the back of the apartment complex. Again, a path I have walked on at least four times a day since Sunday. And we were not playing in that area at all!
So, have birds found them and are dropping them? ( no peck marks) Did they end up on another balcony and are being thrown off (possible, but no balconies near the random areas some are turning up)
And I seem to be picking up twice as many nerf pellets as were used in the original battle!

someone else is trying to get rid of the nerf pellets in their house? does this mean more ammo for your next war?

The other families with kids in our section do not play nerf guns though. At least, I have never seen them use nerf guns. Hopefully there is plenty of ammo for the next battle, yes.

Lucky LC. All we had was bunger guns, air rifles, shanghais and water bombs (and, of course 22s once you turned around 15). Regulations have changed and paintball is now legal for 12 year olds, but nerf guns do seem a much better option. May your ammo supplies increase exponentially.

How I'm reading two books at the same time with a character with the unfamiliar surname, Nickerson. Then I googled it and discovered it is the name of Nancy Drew's boyfriend.

a good friend's husband is going through Chemo in his 70s. yesterday he had a stroke, and it was nearly 4 hrs after arriving at hospital before he saw a doctor. the full story is a horrific one of fuck ups.
but what puzzles me is why she drove him from the shopping mall to the hospital on the other side of town--she was already sure he was having a stroke. why not call an ambulance?
(obviously, i'm not going to say that on the fb thread!!)

he's still speaking and has most movement, but they've just been through a lot.
i have a horrible feeling (from things my sister has heard from their daughter) that the chemo is more desperation than helpful, and that he likely has less than a couple of years left. but he's a 'doer' and i suspect he'd rather suffer through medical treatment because it feels more active.

It is puzzling me whether Liiisa is the shouting protester at the Kavanaugh hearings (new Supreme Court appointee).
And has one ever been shot down? I don't mean with a gun.

No tinaja but I am silently screaming here at my office. They’ll confirm him; there are zero republicans with integrity left. Yes, some candidates have failed during hearings (e.g., Bork in the 80s). But this one will go through. If I hear one more Republican say “elections have consequences “ after they screwed us out of our nominee prior to the 2016 election I’m going to start screaming for real.

Oh I'm sure he will be confirmed also.
Our government just seems full of self serving mean assholes. Or at least the majority.

We got rid of Bork because the Republican Party wasn’t made up of authoritarians or criminals (or people like the orange menace who tick both boxes), plus I think there was a Dem majority in the Senate then? Don’t remember.
I can’t believe I could think of any aspect of the Reagan administration as being “the good old days.” I despised him.

I mean, I was kidding, but at least you knew there was some way to counter them during those administrations.
Right now we've got a madman as President and if he's impeached, someone who I fear will be far worse will step into the position. And they're busily rearranging the courts to ensure that their machinations cannot be undone.
I've enjoyed Kamala Harris tormenting Kavanaugh. The only reason I'm not all about her in 2020 is that we need her in the Senate, too. Clone her?
