Ugh. within the last 10 days, 2 days of horrible down feelings, making it very difficult to get anything done, even when I rationally want to.
I have finally put 'GP appt for HRT' on my to-do list.
Genuinely feeling middle-aged.

Yeah, I got as far as checking the NHS page to see if that's what I was supposed to be doing, and it is. Then I went and did another unpleasant task, so it looks like en route to getting the appointment, I'll get a bunch of other crap done.

I have too much on today.

Got my prescription today, trying the patch. On the theory that I'm more likely to remember it twice a week rather than the same time every day. Glad I read the insert carefully, because I'm sure the doctor said I could wear it on my arm, but the package was insistent that it be worn below the waist.

Yeah - there's some chat on the perimenopause hub group on fb about where you can wear them. I have pills, which I seem to be managing to take, and they are making a bit of a difference in a good way. My anxiety now is whether there is a supply issue or not. Does anyone know how far ahead you're supposed to ask for the next prescription?

Good to hear that you're seeing a result! I haven't even thought about supply. My brain is not doing the math to work out how much I actually got in this first order, but I think it's enough to take me into January, when I have an appt to see how it's going, and then get another script.
I've just noticed that this prescription wasn't repeating, so that needs organising in the next meeting.

I get repeat prescription for the patch for 6 month. Be sure to get your prescription charges lowered: www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/help-nhs-prescription-costs/nhs-hormone-replacement-therapy-prescription-prepayment-certificate-hrt-ppcMine is on repeat prescription as long as I submit my blood pressure online. Gyno I am seeing privately about cyst (off to blood test soon but looked benign on ultrasound) wants me to stop mini pill and only stay with HRT patch - feels kind of weird not to have birth control, even though I am not having sex, nor would I be likely to get pregnant. I said I will think about it next year, I have too much stuff going emotionally, can't risk any mood changes in case I crash and burn again over Christmas.

One plus of living in Scotland is no prescription charges, but that's good info for the other UKers.
I got a bit overwhelmed with the birth control aspect of the different hrt things we discussed in the meeting, so will continue with current methods.
I can't say I've noticed changes, but my symptoms were erratic and it's only been 3 days.

Genuinely feeling middle-aged. I probably should do that but the psychiatrist changed my ADHD meds to one that doesn't suit me and wrote a new script today for one that is out of stock most places so I need to get a handle on that first.

There was a news item here today about a shortage of HRT patches. Hope none of you are affected.

Mr S says I need a venn diagram for "what is causing this symptom?" It will include circles for: Stress Adhd Medication Perimenopause

Yeah, one thing putting me off going for an ADHD diagnosis is the, 'could this be perimenopause' question--so I'm going back in time for patterns of behaviour. FB is suprisingly helpful for this.
I'm suprising myself by just casually mentioning menopause in conversations. Like, someone at the volunteer shop mentioned me looking a bit tired, and I replied that I'd had problems with hot flushes so hadn't slept well. He didn't really react to that at all, but then he was a 60 yr old married man, so has likely been through that and knew exactly what I was talking about!

It's extra fun when the medication has the following potential side effects: Hot flushes Lack of libido Headaches

Oh lord.
And yes, libido. We're pretty tame sexually, and lately I have no interest at all. I mean, once it's going, I enjoy it, but it feels like work to get it going.
Except randomly when I wake up at 3am and think, how pissed would he be if I woke him up RIGHT NOW? I should probably discuss that with him before trying to bring him to consciousness on a work night.

I'm going back to a (different) stimulant so hopefully it'll be better and/or it's really menopause symptoms.

My anxiety was really bad this weekend and then I got my period. On the one hand I'm relieved because I was worried that I was having a bad anxiety flare-up. On the other, this is an annoying new symptom that might be linked to perimenopause (had a blood test recently, all normal except anaemic).

Ear eczema. Fucking Eczema in my motherfucking ears!!!!
Like old dudes get hair, but we get crusty patches that hurt in our fucking ear canals.
I have an ear infection from the fucking eczema ear crusting and it's making me nuts.
I even went for a hearing test because Ithought I was going deaf but it's just ear crusting eczema.

I feel for you, webs. Mum gets psoriasis in her ears and it's affected her choices about getting a hearing aid.

The good news is the symptoms do seem to have been related to the medication.
Headache has gone along with flashing light in the corner of my vision - probably related to the high blood pressure that was measured last week (another known side effect).
Looks like I need to re-calibrate my caffeine intake with the new medicine though as I'm feeling a bit shaky...

Can you still drink caffeine with the ADHD meds? (I don't know, I'm just going on other people's experiences where the two do not play nicely together.)

Some interesting stuff in this episode of Doctor, Doctor from Radio 4. I really should try to listen again properly (ie when not doing something else at the same time).

Is it actually possible to just sit and listen to something, while not also doing something else at the same time?! Your ears are busy, and part of your brain, but what of the rest of you?

I haven't had a period in 3 months. I'm flying tomorrow, a 7 hour and a 2 hour.
Guess what just started?

Anyone have joint problems that got these problems resolved/resolved enough with HRT?
