I think it was the potassium supplement I started not the magnesium one – as soon as I stopped that symptoms went away. But that it hit me so hard still surprises me – nausea, vertigo, upset bowels, massive breakthrough bleeding – just geos to show that just because it’s over the counter it’s not necessary safe. Covid still negative and feeling like myself again now I stopped potassium (will try to reintroduce magnesium later in the week when I will be working from home).

Potassium can cause issues, particularly when you are on other medication. Always best to get professional advice. There are some medications where you can’t eat bananas, because they are high in potassium. (It forms soluble salts, like sodium).

Feeling much better but boss has told me to stay home till I feel 100% (working from home today and tomorrow).
Think he realised his reaction last week was not ideal and is over-compensating.

Glad boss is now being reasonable.
Another school in NSW has hit the news because year groups are being sent home for remote learning due to lack of staff.
I've heard of more schools doing the same, but they mustn't have cranky parents ringing up the right wing media to complain.

The school where I was today gave every staff member a box of RATs, as they expire in July, and there’s more chance we’ll use them if they hand them out. No signs of respiratory illness among staff and students.

I've asked LC to go to student reception and see if he can get some more RATs..

There’s a significant cluster in Nimbin, affecting school staff and students. It probably can be attributed to the influx of people from all over for Mardi Grass, followed closely by the 50th anniversary of the Aquarius Festival. No reports from any other schools in the area.

.... and I think that you'd find a pretty high percentage of antivaxers around Nimbin, too.

Friends of mine are just back from Corfu and tested positive on return. My Dad and I went to Lanzarote in March and both escaped it.
It's definitely still around, but of those I know to be testing positive, they are generally having much less severe infections which is great news. I don't know whether it's repeat exposure, vaccines etc.
Fewer and fewer people I know (IRL!) are having booster jabs though.

Viv - what booster jab? I had the lat one in autumn ( that was my forth) but haven't even heard about any plans of rolling out additional boosters.
But you are right, I know quite a few people who didn't get the fourth jab.

I had my 4th jab in October (I think).
Our local team are doing walk in Covid jab clinics at the moment in the local sports hall as they advertise them in the local Facebook groups.
Not sure if it's a new campaign or a rollimg sweep up for anyone who wants them?

Wow! only ones I've heard of are for the elderly or very at risk!

Being elderly, I've had two bivalent boosters, one last September and one a couple of weeks ago. I hate wearing masks so I'll get all available jabs for the illusion of a bit of freedom.

I'm elderly as of 3 weeks ago, so woo hoo off I go to the vaccine clinic next week.

I’m now classed as elderly (and I’ve been feeling it lately). I’ve recently had my fifth COVID jab. I needed to wear a mask to enter a hospital where the radiology office is today, but got a free bone density scan, because of my age.

lol I know. I keep being baffled when I see my age in the last one in the list, or under "Geriatric," like surely that's a typo.

I need to sort out one again… although numbers are low and risk is lower in summer… but I got it was summer so off I go to sacrifice my arm.
Not yet elderly but my knees creak

I have no idea of they're still giving out jabs here but mrmei is home with covid since Thursday. Accidentally good timing that I'm away travelling maybe but I feel bad for him being home alone and feeling so miserable.

At my GP apt last week she said I could get my fifth jab but then realised I only had covid 2 months ago so I need to wait until 6 months has passed.

Clipper needs to get his next jab..
But, Novavax is only offered on a Tue, Wed or Thursday, and he only WFH on a Monday and Friday. So he needs to sort out either leaving work early or heading in late on one of those days. As his place still offers a half day for Covid vaccines it should be doable, but there is so much other stuff on with his work just now

Just looked it up, the spring booster vaccine (aka that would be the 5th vaccination for most) is only available for people 75 years or older, or vulnerable because of underlying health issues.
Hoping they will roll out a more inclusive vaccine program in autumn again...

I saw a child this morning who has been off school, with what he describes as sweating, chills and croup. I did ask him if he’d had a RAT test.
