That's how I deposit checks too, with the phone. But the app is very picky about lighting. For some reason the downstairs powder room has the brightest light, so I photograph checks in there.

Cheques can be deposited into your account with your smart-thing banking app. Mine just says 'point you phone at the cheque', it takes a pic and pretty much that's it. Depends on the bank. From now on the only place I can deposit them is a post office.

Paid cash on foot at the desk for a parking garage, got a bar-coded ticket to show the reader at the exit.

Excluding holidays…
I don’t even carry the cash card with me anymore. It’s been at least 4 years since I bought it
Last time I took cash out of an ATM was 6-7 years ago and if it wasn’t for needing it for some hospitals I travelled to for work - it would be longer than that.
Technically though it was a couple of weeks ago. Husband had exchanged cash from last year’s holiday. I bought bread rolls from the bakery.

Left a cash tip after paying for my take-out dinner with a credit card. Yes, I generally do that but last night just put the tip on the card as well. Did use cash for the cab home last night - the guy was automatically plugging the amount into the card reader and hadn't realised we had the cash, as he said no one pays like that anymore. But he was much happier with the cash, and as we rounded up the fare the extra would have gone straight to him.

Lots of people over here had to use cash today. Optus (#2 telecom) went belly up, so cash or barter became the payment du jour for many.
Remember those little click click gadgets that worked with credit cards? They never failed.

I was explaining those machines to LC the other day, and how each store had an approval limit, and if someone wanted to buy something over that limit with the card you had to ring up and get an approval number. And how one day that was refused, as the card was massively over the limit, and I was told I had to cut the card up in front of the customer.

A friend’s comment on Facebook. Optus outage is a stark reminder that we need cash! I have gone back to using cash whenever I can. Credit card fees make banks rich, and no doubt are adding to inflation.

I try to use cash for under $20, for the same reasons, and to have $50-100 in my wallet. My standard ATM cash withdrawal is $100 unless I anticipate lots of little errands.

The unmanned (unpersonned?) roadside fruit and veg stall at Dunbible Creek seemed to lack efptos facilities, so I left $1.50 in the cashbox and departed with a kilo of bananas.

Our Christmas shop has EFTPOS facilities, but because it is a charity pop-up, some people expect to pay in cash. Today, cash takings were 47% of total.

To pay for a taxi. They are supposed to all take cards here, but many will still only accept your fare if you pay cash.

Lots of cash came in today, with some people almost apologetic about it, which I thought was sad. Pay with whatever you like. I paid cash for the 60p worth of photocopying I had done, for a piece for the clarinets in our band. I got £20 out of a machine this week, wasn't actually sure it was going to work for me.
