Withdrew $80 at the supermarket, because the few ATMs in our suburb all charge a fee.

I lined up at Aldi the other day behind a bunch of older folk who all paid with cash. Gawd it took a long time.

Partner owed me £30 for buying groceries, and gave it in cash rather than ask me for my bank details.

tipped the crew @ taim fish monger How is TAIM. They opened one near my office so now we have 3 "middle eastern" places within a block and half (Taim, Naya and Miznon. We regularly get Naya (their food is always high quality and value). Someone gave me a cash gift of multiple $50 bills. I find it hard to use them because so many places won't break a 50 for an order under $20.

Really, $50s are a pain (an FWP, surely, but a pain nonetheless). Maybe change them at the bank?

Today - $1 (refundable) to get a shopping trolley at Aldi. Cheapskate that I am, I always use a Woolworths trolley when shopping at Aldi, Tweed Fair.

I lost my debit card - pretty sure I dropped it in the snow.
Yesterday was day 11 after I reported it and requested a new one, and still no sign. My bank doesn't exactly seem in a rush.
In fact I had some cash that my parents gave me at Christmas and I have a second account with another bank, but they don't know that.
Will it arrive today? I'm at my boyfriend's. Is it worth trekking across town just to check? Who knows.
I have some financial stuff I want to sort this year, and when I've done that, I'm changing bank.

That is seriously poor service--and surely quasi illegal? As in, it's not reasonable to expect someone to go that long without access to their account. I have no idea how I could access my cash without my debit card.
This reminds me that I've been avoiding some bank paperwork, and should really get at it.

It literally says I should wait 2 weeks before enquiring.
Apparently I could go into a bank branch (yes, we still have them, although it's years since I went into one), show ID, and get a cash advance.
This just compounds the issue of the rude customer service I experienced before Christmas and the lack of solution to my problem (until today!).
But, oh, changing bank is such a pain...

I have now put my driver's licence on my phone (digitial copy through the service NSW app) as well as my credit card, so technically I don't need to go out with my wallet anymore. And as one of my most frequent haunts is the library, and both library cards can also be accessed via the relevant library app, I don't need it for that either.

I bought my concert ticket. Senior ticket was $10 and I had a ridiculous number of singles puffing up my wallet and asked the cashier if he minded, he said Whatever works for you, so I counted out ten singles and enjoyed the show. He said he'd never seen that many singles in one place!

Well, as I am on holiday it will be cash only for two weeks. Somehow it feels less weird to spend USD abroad than £ at home!
Today $ 50 for petrol and $ 20 for groceries. Got change in Barbados dollars so need to familiarise myself with them - it's 0.5 Barbados dollar to USD and no surprise everybody wants USD!
