Markets last night - noticed that prices had gone up at all the stalls and most were then adding a surcharge for card payments. So at a few stalls I used cash.

Used cash for my groceries today, as I am still waiting for my stolen cards to be replaced.

I tried to use it today for my $1 t shirt, but I had no small change and only 20s and 50s. It wasn't really worth it for the shrapnell that I'd accumulate, so I used plastic.

I remember when I would have scandalized myself by charging something that was only $1, but now I wouldn't think twice.

Drinks in the mountain hut cafe in the Eifel we stopped at on a mini roadtrip today, because they have absolutely no Internet connection tion up there so can't use a card reader.

Went out to dinner last night with a group. The pub was set up with q-codes at each table so you could order on your smartphone. I don't have one. A guy at the table ordered for me and I paid him back in cash.

FDB at Ocean Shores run a tight ship. They wouldn't accept my plastic for a $2.99 purchase, so I had to hit them with a pineapple.

Today - my frozen fruit drink purveyor's card reader had malfunctioned due to water or juice or something.
Everyone is adding 1.5% to card payments here - it really annoys me. They should just build it into their prices. (and it's not like the bank is charging that much - they're just boosting profits).

I got charged that using my card at the fish shop last night.

An impasse at the local roadside fruit and veg roadside stall on Friday. They were setting up for the weekend, card reader still not ready, did I have cash? No. OK, pay next time you're through.

My mom gave me cash the other day to reimburse me for the two bags of granola I got for her. I tried to refuse it, like can't I just buy you granola? but she insisted. But yay, now I have some cash!

At work - I usually get my letters franked there as it's both cheaper and saves me a trip to the postoffice with endless queues, so i had to pay £1.05 in cash. For a stupid driver licence renewal that I could not do online as I am surrendering my right to drive lorries and buses (with that entitlement I have to renew every 5 years and need a medical certificate, and well, I don't drive lorries and busses anyway!)
