fish (what's sliptong in English?), a fennel and cucumber salad and oven-baked fries (seasoned with cumin, chilli, salt & pepper). sliptong is simply a small tong/sole. griet/brill is the best of all flat fish (oh yes i've tried all of them).

Ah yes, sole. Thanks
Today, I had a fresh spinach and ricotta ravioli with mozarella, shallots, cherry tomatoes and arugula. Surprisingly yummy.

Yesterday: Goose paté with some nice dark bread and a yummy crunchy salad
Today: Shrimp fettucine which I absolutely loved (husband had the total opposite reaction and ordered pizza)

I had some great fish dishes in Italy.
Sea bream with a very thin potato rosti crust and stir-fried courgette leaves with chilli Cod mediterranean style with very light tomato and pepper sauce and crispy leeks
And amazing lemon gelato

This is a great thread for when you run out of ideas. I am making onion Bhaji (baked not fried) paneer jalfrezi (Rick Stein recipe - it's so good) and some spicy bastardised kofta come burger lamb thingummy jigs. I am drinking a very nice (read very strong) gin and tonic while I am waiting for the onion Bhaji.

Okay, not ríght now (cause it's very early in the morning, damn savings time)...
...but yesterday me and H_L cooked up a storm. We made fallafel, tzatziki, Greek meatballs and had that all with Turkish bread. Yes, Cyprus would've been proud!

Last night I decided to learn to cook properly. I made Jamie Oliver's jerk chicken with rice and salad. It was a huge success and we just ate the leftovers for dinner tonight.

This all sounds so good. We're having pho bo (Vietnamese beef noodle soup) for dinner this evening. I've been tending my stock pot all day. It smells divine. My only concern is how the toddler of the house will take it!
