Younger couple have purchased and are updating the tired neglected house across the road. Dad's out painting the huge front fence with some 'help'from the three year old. Saw me at my door and yelled out and waved hi Mrs who,I'm such a help, but forgot she had a roller full of white paint in her hand, and that Dad was behind her.
Dad now has racing stripes and spots. Luckily it's washable and dads a good sport.

I had a cat who hitched a ride uptown (I was living in a town with a population of about 2000) in a neighbour’s car. By the time the local weekly paper came out, he had been to every takeaway and restaurant in town! Meanwhile, I had lunch with 3 friends today. M is 93, her daughter and son in law are late 60s, and son in law has some serious health issues. Our conversation turned to funerals, including a Hindu cremation for M’s son’s mother in law, music, costs etc. I now have the job of heckler at M’s son in law’s funeral. It was an important sort of conversation, but very funny. |

Turns out the neighbor left the car door open while she was chatting with someone, so the cat got in without her noticing.

We had a new light put in our bathroom today, and it is very bright. Operating theatre bright.
So whenever any of us has gone in and turned on the light tonight there is a squeal as we are still getting used to i.
The shock noises are making me laugh

To the grandees I am Nan. Little Miss C who turns 2 on the 24th, says “I love you man” She’s a cutie. The youngest of four, her three older siblings also called me “man” for a while!

The inlaws thought they were on a 'do not call' register, but apparently not.
I took a call: "Hello! YOu may be eligible for a ... grant... for ... solar panels! I'd like to tell you about the option in the ...(county name)... area."
Who agrees to that? It's clearly a recorded voice with the computer filling in the blanks.

Popped into my old work today to leave something for a friend .
Bailed up by my old boss asking me to go back. Maternity cover for my replacement, due at Christmas.
Laughed and waved my walking stick at him. First things first. Then he handed me a $10 note.. We'd had a bet. I was sure she was pregnant when she started work. He said she offered the info they only wanted one. Mmmm.

two local tom cats are sitting 10 feet away from each other in our back yard. Neither wants to move, but they sort of hate each other.
one has just turns his back, pretending he's seen somethign interesting so he can justify strolling away.

Friend took her 13 yr old French son back for half term, and at the end at the time they went for dinner.
Mains were about £30-40, but the black angus steak was £160.
The waiter said, 'I recommend the steak' and cool as you like, her son replied, 'Ah, that's ok, we live in Scotland, we can have angus any time we like.'

On the trail near our house, there's a bridge that goes over the creek. This morning a young child and her dad were there, and she obviously did NOT want me to cross. I said "Uh-oh, do I have to have a password to get across?" and the dad revealed that the child was actually a troll. Oh no! "Am I supposed to answer three questions," I asked, but the dad didn't think she had three questions to ask, so he said "maybe just say please, if you can cross the bridge?" So I did, but THAT didn't work. So I told the kid "ok, I like it here, I can just stay here," which she thought was funny. Eventually she relented.

I didn't have my contacts in to shower. A black thing was moving around on the floor. It looked like a spider so I smashed it. Later I picked it up with eyes in. Finally I discovered that it was some thread.

Something has gone wrong with weather stripping on the base of the front door, and pero is taping it back together with tape, like the kind you tape things to a piece of paper? I'm just watching in wonder and bafflement.

LC explaining why he was late home from school yesterday. He was talking with a mate on the train and not only missed our station, he missed the next one as well. Apparently there had been too many PL games on the weekend they had to discuss! And then h e walked home from that station, which would have taken about an hour. (google maps is trying to tell me it is only a 30 min walk, but google maps is also putting in a ferry trip for a walk. Google is drunk)
