Yeah, the Okavango Delta is one of those places I would love to go. So many cool places!

That magpie video is great, but the lyrebird is even more amazing! It sounded exactly like a baby! Wow. We have a bird here (Northern Mockingbird) that imitates car alarms and such, but not babies (yet)
The hedgehog/hat article there has a paywall, but the Guardian had a snarky take on it (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2024/mar/27/baby-hedgehog-hat-bobble-difficult-to-tell-the-difference)

Yikes, just looked up blue-ringed octopus to see if the issue was that it was venomous vs that it's endangered. Hope the kid is ok.
(clicked on the link but no article was forthcoming, but that's ok, I looked it up)

Yeah, the kid was fine, thankfully only found it rather than was stung/bitten by it.

Well, I suppose that it did matter to the candidate.

Well, I suppose that it did matter to the candidate. /photo/1 That's probably their least-embarrassing candidate update to date.

I used to buy origami paper from the Takashimaya outlet in New York. We are talking 60 years ago. I still get nostalgic when I hear the name.

I think this is the octopus that features in the James Bond film Octopussy? I can thank my dad for my Bond trivia knowledge.
