This is nasty - I tried hard to avoid it and will try even harder from now on.

Hal, that does not sound like a mild case, at all. Hope you can get some rest in.

Hal, that does not sound like a mild case, at all. Hope you can get some rest in. The definition for mild here is "did not need hospitalisation"

Well, we were teetering beyond mild for LC today, but ambos decided they really didn't want to take him to hospital if they didn't have to (but would if that would make him feel better) and so he is at home, in my bed while I monitor him.
This is really shit.

Sorry to hear that Hal.
So I had an experience yesterday at a large meeting of different German ministries and authorities. I was sitting next to a woman, my counterpart at a ministry, she seems very nice and normal.
In the break she explains that she had a serious retina problem that first occurred 2 days after her first vaccination, which she classes as a "vaccine injury" and thus never got the rest of her jabs.
What do we think? Part of me wanted to start backing away. On the other hand I'm sure it was very distressing and she has probably done a lot of research on it.

Sending healing vibes for you and LC, Hal. lillielangtry, that sounds like the sort of coincidence that has children diagnosed with autism soon after their early childhood vaccination.

Hal I am so sorry!! Tons of vibes for you both, and I hope Clipper stays healthy so he can take care of you both.
lillie I agree that it's a coincidence; I've never seen that as an adverse effect in any material I've seen about vaccines.

Well, that was my initial assumption too, but that's a little bit... stupid?!
I felt uncomfortable but also bad for judging her.

Oh judge all you like! Just don’t do it out loud unless you’re in the mood for an awkward conversation.

I had a huge argument with a friend of mine, who only got one vaccination, not the second one, as he then got Covid and therefore is protected forever. And he did extensive internet research. because the internet is such a great tool for this - you will websites that back you up no matter what shit you believe. find I felt quite happy to call him an idiot, but it wasn't a work environment, then I would have kept my mouth shut.

LC and I were talking today - we are following similar symptom patters, mine were worse at the start but then improved and are now much milder than his..
We were. wondering if 5x vaccinations vs 2x vaccinations (maximum he can have) was the difference.

Yes. I avoid vaccination discussions with the two antivaccers I work with. One has had COVID three times. I did point out to her that the research connecting autism to childhood vaccinations had been totally discredited, but other than that, I just nod.

I had a meeting yesterday afternoon with someone who tested positive this morning.
I got an email from her after I'd got to work. I'm in an office by myself and I'll wear a mask if I'm around people but fingers crossed I don't get it again.

Over 6 weeks since I tested positive, still not back to pre Covid levels. I think it is more that it has triggered a chronic illness flare, than actual still Covid stuff. Which was why I'd been trying so hard to avoid it.
Ho hum.

Was in hospital today and nobody was wearing masks...Interesting I thought.
I still see my neighbour with long Covid struggling 2 years down the line - she got it bad, and now has permanent heart issues, and her lung capacity is a joke - she can't walk more than 50 meters without sitting down. She is part of a long Covid study now, but the damage to her heart muscle is permanent, and the fatigue does not seem to get better either.

Was in hospital today and nobody was wearing masks...Interesting I thought. It seems to go in a cycle - masks removed, sudden outbreaks in hospitals, masks back, sometimes visiting restrictions again. Wave passes, masks removed again. I did see was it the NHS unit (trust?) in Scotland asking for masks to be reinstated.

Funnily enough I got letter and text from NHS before my appointment with all the - don't come if you have a temperature, or Covid symptoms, always wear a mask - and then nobody did. I assume it was a template for previous years that never got update. They did have hand sanitiser stations everywhere though, which I think is a good thing, Covid or no Covid, to have in hospital.

I remember visiting Dad in hospital and there were hand sanitisers set up at the main entry, at the entry of the ward he was on, and then in his room. And because they had isolated him, thinking he had the flu, we had to wear a mask in his room, and all staff coming in had to be masked. This was almost 10 years ago.

I think it's hilarious that the variant that finally got me was Eris, since I was a bit of a Discordian in my youth; I even still have my old "Hail Eris / Hail Yes" button on my bulletin board here in my home office

I was pretty ill last week after I got out of hospital - chest and sinus infection, metallic taste in mouth, fainting spells - but tested left right and center and all Covid test came back negative.
All done now, gues sit was just a "normal" infection.

I met a woman today who said a COVID vaccination triggered an autoimmune disease, and she hasn’t been able to work since. Meanwhile, I forgot to pick up a packet of RAT Tests while I was in the Service NSW office.

I left a facebook group who seemed to pretty sane and interesting (it was cat related) until one person asked about cat vaccination and it went into a downward spiral how all vaccinations are evil pharma, and nobody would ever consider Covid or flu shots...Tada, I'm out of there. I think one person mentioned getting Covid would be worse than side effects from vaccine and got shot down along the lines of didn't you know Covid is a big Hoax by Pharma to make money...I felt like I stumbled into a parallel universe

Of course pharma HAS done some evil things to make money, but that's not one of them!
Glad you're feeling better, rom.
Here the tests are no longer so easy to get for free, but pero bought a whole stack of them.
