nooo lillie! Hope he has a mild case, & river, feel better.
On the metro last night there were more people wearing masks than there's been this summer, but still not many other than me & pero.

Hope everybody's lurgy is mild and over soon.
Friend in another country is still wearing a mask in public enclosed spaces, a man abused her for it yesterday.
Five points if you can guess which country, another five if you can name the location.

Ah, sadly I've had it happen to a friend in Australia.
So I would not have actually guessed the US.

Feeling a lot better today after a really good night's sleep and having slept most of yesterday too. Might make it over to the Ardennes today to see my UK friends after all.

Pretty much four years to the day when Australia closed down, J has tested positive!
Wish me luck.

Hope you are over it quickly, Wombat. When I was in the supermarket yesterday a woman was coughing and sneezing into her bare hands. It really grossed me out, and I got as far from her as I could!

Craaaap wombat! Feel better soon, and yes, as tzarine says, try to get ahold of some Paxlovid (nirmatrelvir/ritonavir, if it has a different brand name there)

It's very restricted here. You can try for a private script, but that's about $1500.

I think I should be glad I've had 6 vaccinations otherwise I would REALLY feel like crap (as opposed to absolute crap). I'm amazed at the variety of symptoms that are rolling out over the last 48 - 60 hours. I'm actually finding it interesting in a clinical sort of way :-D :
Spaced out Nausea Indigestion Violent shivering and feeling cold Migraine strength headache Stiff neck and back to the nausea Dizziness Finally today a very sore throat and running sinuses that don't have an off switch at all
Blah.

Oh crap, so sorry!
Just take your time recovering, it's got a nasty habit of lurking around longer than you expect - certainly longer than the 'isolate for 5 days' recommendation.

Bugger, sounds like you got a nasty dose. And yep, rest, rest and rest some more.

The "running sinuses that don't seem to have an off switch at all" is how I experienced it - I called it the "fountain of snot." Hope it all quits soon!

Thanks Liiisa - from now on the descriptor is the fountain of snot!

Rest, between snot clearing obviously, but rest rest rest. It's so easy for those who have had a mild case to ignore the long term issues. It's serious and you seem to have a really nasty dose. Take care.

To be clear, they are not all happening at once, but rather in stages. I am resting though.
I made the decision to cancel a restaurant booking we had on Saturday - which was difficult! It was somewhere I've been wanting to go to for YEARS and it's so hard to get a booking, I booked it weeks in advance :-(

Hope you recover soon - that sounds rather nasty.
I got annoyed at a news reader yesterday - here in the UK they refer to "back in the Covid days" when they talk about 2020-2022/3. Because clearly it has disappeared by now and is history.
