Every so often the school hands out free ones, but the last free lot from there were a rubbish brand, so instead we bought Flowflex. They seem to be on a fairly regular sale at Woolworths. I should get LC to ask if they have any kits to hand out at the moment.

Thanks for the tip, Hal. I’ll look for Flowflex next time I’m in Woollies. The last free ones I got from work are now out of date.

We got some Flowflexes (Flowfices?) and they’re very fancy with the little box that turns into a test tube holder and whatnot. V impressive

Ironic. Finally friends had a 60th anniversary party for parents, delayed bc of C. She just messaged me that she has Covid, symptoms started Sun night. A room of people who were from all over. Crap shoot on who, if any, get it. I am going to avoid people for a few days.

Tested positive yesterday afternoon after feeling like crap since Sunday morning.
I was in NYC Tuesday through Friday. If I got it there or on the train, that would mean I got Covid on two of my last three trips there.
I've been feeling better slowly since Sunday night.
Fingers crossed, tinaja.

Oh no vinny! pero says feel better too. Seems like it really is making the rounds again.
The one good thing about it is I lost 5 lbs, not that I would want to repeat that very often.

Feel better both of you. I just heard our state has removed all covid restrictions on cruise ships, bringing it into line with the rest of Australia.

It's not as if there really were any real ones left. Apparently you were still meant to wear a mask when embarking/disembarking. But, that was now chin style, if at all. I think it was the vaccine requirements, that were confusing because as an Australian you didn't have to be vaccinated, but some cruise liners were still saying overseas people had to be.
As it was, from a friend who went on a few different cruises earlier this year, it did seem to depend on which line you went with as to what the onboard protections were like. And it seemed that was more to stop illness spreading on board (like the gastro precautions as well) and not particularly dictated by countries.

I have a vax appointment Friday afternoon.
I have concert tickets for Saturday - yes, plural, a double-header. Not sure how that happened... who, me, fluff-for-brains? Fluids and meds at the ready -
I hope I don't have a severe reaction.

I noticed in Woolworths this week that they were selling RATs very cheap. The use by date is this week.

I noticed in Woolworths this week that they were selling RATs very cheap. The use by date is this week. Most of those tests are good for at least a few extra months. There's a US website that tracks all the available brands by their lot numbers and gives use-by updates. Any such thing in Oz? Do you make your own tests or are they imported? Also, in general, if the Control line is still unbroken the test is still good - but of course you don't know that until you actually try to use it.

My RATs expire end of the year I think.
I'm probably not going to get to use them all.

Last lot I bought at Woolworths had a sticker over the date, already extending it. So those could be the ones Ozzie has seen.

Colleague who sits opposite just tested positive. I haven't seen her since last week so fingers crossed it wasn't contagious at that point.

My partner just tested positive. I haven't seen him since Wednesday so we'll see if I escape it.
It's particularly annoying as he started his new job this month and if you are sick in the first four weeks of employment here in Germany, you don't get paid by your employer but rather by your health insurance, which is more complicated.
Given he works in a medical centre, I'm sure he caught it there, so hopefully they will be understanding.

Oh no, Lillie. Hope you escape it and he has a mild dose and is on the mend quickly.
My manager has just sent me home as I'm feeling miserable today, but been testing negative all week. It's more exhaustion, I think, as the cold itself isn't so bad. I only got about 2 hours sleep last night due to restless legs, plus it took me 3 hours to get home yesterday on public Transport so I'm just at the end of all my energy.
